Thanks man but I gave up on that ages ago. Thousands of views and like 10 votes a day. People are lazy and it makes me see that the general populous of this forum only cares about things that benefit themselves.

I'm sure the cheaters will get filtered out but my measily 180 votes won't mean shit. Its like a punch in the stomach

    www. ticketassassin dot com

My girlfriend used the site to fight a 350+ dollar ticket and won.

Moving violation 22349(a): Exceeding 65 mph maximum Speed limit
    or
22356(b): Exceeding the maximum as, as specified.

For some reason I think it was 22349, but if I remember correctly the ticket said she was going 61 in a 45. I think that the use of the wrong Vehicle code contributed to getting the ticket dismissed, but she also used the defense of a possibly out of date road speed survey.

The website is very helpful and I think only asks for $25.00... You fight the ticket by mail/letter, using a template they provide, catered to the violation, and edited by you to your circumstances. The website will guide you through what you need to do.

In my girlfriend's case, her letter basically said that the VC noted was the incorrect one, that the weather was clear and there were no other vehicles on the road. She also said that the "speed survey" on the road could possibly be expired. Apparently, the speed survey must be performed within 5 years prior to the ticket date, and the citing officer has to write a letter, describing his description of the event to refute yours. The site says that something like 15% of officers don't even bother to write the letter, forcing a dismissal of the ticket, one of their templates simply states "I AM NOT GUILTY". Also, the letter stated that because she was asking about the speed survey, the officer was required to find and submit a valid road speed survey for the road in question, and if the officer did not, then the ticket would have to be dismissed, per CA law (this was cited in the letter template). I think she had to include a money order for the price of the citation, and if it gets dismissed, they send you your money back. If it doesn't get dismissed by the letter, I think you can still show up in court and fight it, but I would check on that.

There are so many "loopholes" and technicalities in the CA vehicle code that most people don't know about, and the site highlights a ton of them.

I would recommend paying the $25.00 to get access to everything on the site, just to do your due diligence, and if you still feel like you want a lawyer, you can get one, and you are a little bit more informed.
