    Bleacher report.

The 2012 SEC Championship Game has been set, as the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide will play the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs at the Georgia Dome. With a virtual Georgia home game coming in a matter of days, each team will prepare for the fight of their lives with a BCS Championship Game bid likely on the line.
So what are the odds that the Bulldogs choke again in the SEC Championship Game?
One year ago, Georgia started the season 0-2 with crushing losses to Boise State and South Carolina. They proceeded to win 10 consecutive games and qualify for the 2011 SEC Championship Game, thus setting up a date with the then No. 1 LSU Tigers.
Upon arriving to the biggest game of the season, Georgia was blown out of the building. The Bulldogs would lose 42-10.
The label of choke artists was instantly placed upon Mark Richt's crew.

Kentucky Sports Radio can confirm Mark Stoops will be named Kentucky football coach this afternoon

Stoops is currently Florida State's defensive coordinator. Previously he was D-coordinator for Arizona from 2004-09.

Stoops inherited a defense that ranked 108th nationally in 2009 and helped the Seminoles improve dramatically. Florida State led the ACC in seven defensive categories this season and allowed 15.1 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the country.

After a playing career at Iowa, he served as an assistant coach at Iowa, South Florida, Wyoming, Houston, Miami, Arizona and Florida State.

Brothers Bob and Mike coach at Oklahoma, brother Ron at Youngstown State.

Stoops is one of 5 finalists for D-coordinator of the year by the American Football Coaches Association. The other four finalists: Notre Dame’s Bob Diaco, Stanford’s Derek Mason, Alabama’s Kirby Smart and Florida’s Dan Quinn.

Klein doesn't even deserve to be in your comparison, but i'll give you Mariota and Miller. Both great players. I don't know of any school who focuses on winning a Heisman over a title. The fact that he hasn't even been "promoted" by the school until 2 weeks ago should show you that. KS was sending out Colin Klein packets to the media 2 months ago. You're right about those guys not being able to win as many game as Manziel, but thats what makes it a team dynamic...Manziel couldn't win as many games without the team. Point is this...He'll probably win the Heisman, A&M is going to a great January Bowl and the team is setup to be good for a long time. This season has been a huge boost for recruiting in Texas and should pay dividends for a years to come. You may hate it, but you also better accept it.

BTW, if MSU ever has a Heisman candidate, I'll be waiting anxiously for the press release where they retract him from the race. Wouldn't want to upset the plan of a title by the distraction of a Heisman trophy.

We'll probably never get a kid talented to win the Heisman, and I am okay with that. I'm hoping we can get enough of a work ethic as a team to go win a title. If a Heisman candidate comes along with a championship, then that's great.

You never know, MSU might have that guy on the roster already? Nobody outside of the Univ of Oregon or the Central/South Texas area had ever heard of Manziel before this season. Texas was recruiting him as a 2nd or 3rd string safety. Glad he chose to go to Aggieland. A title is and should be every teams priority every year, but if its graced with a huge talent then you can't reproach them for using it to their advantage. I'm a graduate of A&M ('94), and I'm a lifelong fan through good times and bad. All the ribbing and politics aside, its been a ton of fun to watch them this season. If you have ever followed A&M football, its been a LONG time since we had any REAL thing to cheer about.

Class of 12 here. I've been loving this season as well. I've really enjoyed listening to everyone say we would be the doormat and the SEC is just weak.

I keep hearing how the Dome is supposed to be a home field advantage for us but I don't buy it. I figure the fan support will be close to 50/50. Now against Boisie St, yeah it should have been considering how far across the country they had to travel.

As far as the "choke artist", it's not a UGA thing, it's a state of Georgia thing. :( It's not secret that aside from the 95 Braves team that all our teams tend to choke.

This whole post is correct. There won't be any home field advantage. I expect a good split. I'm sure the Bammers will travel well.

Every team in Ga tends to nut up when it counts. The falcons went 13-3, then got bounced in the second (their first) round. The braves won 1395848 pennants and only 1 WS. Hopefully this one will be different.

Meh, Mullen can develop players, but these past two years have been rough. No effort has been put forth at all and it sickens me to think we have any possible talent there that could win the Heisman and we lost to Ole Piss the way that we did.
Well, the SEC was great last year. You can't tell me that last year's Aggies would have beaten Alabama, they didn't beat Arkansas, they would have blown the games at Ole Miss and La Tech. Everyone expected A&M to come to the SEC and flop, because that's what A&M did a year ago. Nobody knew about Manzie, everyone was hyped up about Tannehill.

I still say give the DCs an offseason to gameplan for him and he won't put up the ridiculous numbers next year. I could be wrong. Kid's a heck of an athlete, for sure, so he could prove me wrong. But, he's the reason the SEC teams pay their DCs big money.

I agree completely and have been saying the same thing. Hopefully he and Bo Mullet Wallace are the reasons Chris Wilson gets fired.

I agree last years team would have flopped, but most Aggies knew the kind of talent we had and knew about Johnny. Von Miller praised when he ran the scout as QB. My comment was more about the big 12/10 fans who are just looking for any reason to discredit us.

Oh yeah I saw that and forgot to mention it on here. Also heard rumors of Petrino to Auburn and Smart to UT.

I will say this will be his best rushing season of his career, but I also think it will ne his worst passing season. The throws he is starting to make are promising and his throwing on the run is great.

Happened to Tebow... he kicked ass, won the heisman, then didn't do as well the following year. They won a lot that year, got to the SECC, but Saban/Smart had figured him out by then.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Petrino to auburn. Hope we keep Smart, but he's been a hot name for a while and deserves a shot at a HC job as much as anybody. For a while it looked like his dream job was going to open up, but Richt's success this year probably stomped out those hopes.

Miles was offered 27.5 mil for 5 years from what I saw.
