Moto Metal 951 Problem with 4WD

Hey guys, anyone had this problem before?

I just bought some brand new 16 x 8 MO951 wheels and the tire place called to tell me the wheels will not fit over the 4wd hubs ... any idea what I can do??

should I have already known these? 4wp told me they would work ... now I am kind of pissed

 

Your wheels need to have a center bore of 106.1mm or 4.177 inches. Sounds like you may have bought the wrong wheel. Do you have a part number for your wheels or a website link to the exact wheels you bought?

Guess I need to look harder at center bore ... did not even consider it :/

EDIT: and now reading it on Amazon it says 108 mm but thats literally the same item I bought so it must not be right ... sweet, hope they'll take a return!

 

Only way to tell would be to measure and see if you got the right wheel. Do you have the part number off the box they came in?

you have an 05 though? Im just wondering if hub size is different for the 97 maybe, the box confirms the 108mm hub size but the holes definitely arent big enough to go around the hub ... guess im SOL.

Any suggestions on other wheels for a first gen?

Me too! The measurement I gave you was for 05-up hubs. Don't know what you need for your truck.

Edit: This chart shows 95-up using a 106mm center bore. Did you measure the wheels to see if they are correct?

 

I did measure and they are 108 ... looks like the problem here is taht I have the manual locking hubs and they seem to be a bit bigger than the 106mm suggested.

I am considering have the wheels bored out at a machine shop.

Talked to a mechanic at work and he seems to think it will be fine as long as they are bored properly

thoughts?

 

It's been done before. Sounds like you only need a few millimeters anyway, so getting them bored is probably a good option.
