Here's an update on what I have on order:

Complete set of aluminum skids from Budbuilt
    BAMF rear diff skid
    BAMF rear shock towers
Budbuilt sliders and front bumper for Jess's 4runner

Should be a busy holiday season in the garage for me :D

It will be a while before the shock towers go on though, can't afford new shocks and bumps.

you can at least weld them together in the mean time, then when you get shocks, you can just just off the old and burn on the new. and you don't need new bumps with the shock towers......it's just a nice upgrade.

I paid the extra money to have them together already. Will is my personal welder but I don't want him spending all his time doing me favors  As for the bumps, I plan on getting it all at once from DSM. That way we can do it all at once and be done with it. Do most guys run 2" or 4" bumps in the rear?

most run 4. if 4 is too much though, you can easily take them apart and ad in a limiter to turn them into 2''. youtube it and you'll see what i mean.

the shock towers will be easier to do than the spindle cussets. just chop off the old shock mounts and weld these on. no hub dissasembly.

True, but the bump mounts will have to get done at the same time. I'm still a little worried about fitting a 2.5" shock in there. If I have to I'll run spacers but I really don't want to. The thinnest I would want is the .75" bora's. Im gonna have to flex it out and see how much room I have.

why do you have to weld on the bump cans at the same time? doesn't will live right around the corner from you?

cutting off the old shock mounts will probably take linger than welding on the new shock mounts, and bump cans combined.

Just looked through your whole build, good looking trucks.

On your first suspension set-up is there anything you would change? Looking at doing something similar but probably with Bilsteins (still not sure how much difference there is between those and the OME).

I had the 10mm top plate, I would change it to the 13mm one. To keep it simple I would just go all OME.

Awesome, looks like I'll probably go that route. Now to decide on 885 or 886 (possibly doing a bumper in the next 6 months or so)

You'll want the 886's for a bumper. One of the reasons I went with coilovers on my new truck was that with OME its kind of a crap shoot regarding how much lift you'll actually get.

I guess the real question is whether or not I'll do the bumper. May do the 885's then if I get the bumper upgrade to the 886's. I really just need enough lift to fit 285's (have factory 265's) so that I don't bottom out in some of the ruts where I go (damn jeeps/swamp buggies and their 44's).

Thanks man! I cant wait either, although Im more excited about my gf's stuff coming in than mine :D

A lift won't keep you from bottoming out at all. You'll still have the exact same travel.
