Haha, yeah, Mountain Creek that's it. Good mountain overall, I love the new lodge. Not as steep and pow'y as I'd like it, as I'm not much of a park rider :3

Yeah you won't find pow'y down here. But it definitely offers more interesting trails than many of the Pocono mountains.

I'm finally looking at getting a new board this season, the thing is I haven't really kept up with boards all that much since I can only go a few times a year and everyone is telling me something different. I'm really only familiar with Burton and Forum. I'm looking to get a board that will be good for the park and decent everywhere else. I've got a burton canyon 156 right now and don't really care for it. I normally hit boxes, side trail jumps, and a rail here and there. I'd consider myself a decent rider and I'm looking for a board that I could hold onto for awhile. Any help?

They make AMAZING borads with great flex for the rails and butters

Agreed on Lib-tech. I love my skate banana, but they are a bit spendy too.

    like akaryanreynolds said lib tech!

I would say anything from Marvin Manufacturing so Lib Tech or GNU
You can ride there boards 3-4 cm shorter than you normally have in the past. Your Burton Canyon is a all mountain/powder board not a jib/park your using it for. I don't know how old your board is but the last year they made the Canyon was in '05. The technology they have put into snowboards the pass 6 years is unbelievable. Everyone has there own riding style and preference, seek out a demo day and test drive a couple.

I would recommend the gnu carbon credit 153 to you best board for your buck out of the whole line. $400 MSRP
last years are all on sale this time of year!

I live in the north east so we have a lot of hard pack/ice. I will never buy a board with out magne-traction ever again.

I have been riding 14 years now and love the sport! some of my rides over the years.

    2004 Burton Custom X 160
    2006 Head Intelligence 158
    2009 GNU Riders choice 157.5
    2010 GNU Riders choice 157.5
    2011 GNU Carbon Credit 158
Currently have 2002 Palmer Channel Titanium 164 and 2012 GNU Danny Kass 158

Yep. Mervin manufacturing (lib tech, gnu, roxy) are sweet. Magnetraction edges is like having 4 wheel drive. And you can get any terrain or experience level out of their boards. I have a gnu riders choice and a lib tech skate banana both are 3 cm shorter than my all mountain board and yet I ride them just as hard in the powder as I do in the park

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. I'll start looking into Lib Tech. I didn't know much about boards when I got mine, and I'd venture to say it was an '05 so it's definitely time for a replacement. I've been hearing about all the new technology though, that's why I'm trying to learn everything I can before I buy my next board.

All of my friends ride Burton and Forum, and from what I can tell they don't know much about their boards either. Most of them are saying to get a Burton custom but they don't have much reason behind it. What are the things I need to look for in a park board?

Burton makes decent boards, but are overpriced. Forum is currently owned by Burton, but Burton is closing down Forum (http://espn.go.com/action/snowboard...d-restructuring-forum-close-analog-surf-skate if you want to take a gander).

I have the K2 fastplant and I love that board. My brother just got a NeverSummer Proto and that board looks like it was built pretty well, though we havent had a chance to ride it yet.

I would say the shape, camber, and flex are the most important when looking for a board. It is hard to choose a board without trying it first, but I would read up on some of the board reviews before buying

I heard about that not too long ago. And I plan on it, I have a lot of reading to do before I am ready to buy.

Also, if you buy last years model you will save a lot of money and you will be able to get better bang for your buck. Last year was a really shitty season, so a lot of stores still have a lot of stock they need to get rid of

I could never ride with a helmet. I could also never get used to riding with music. I bought a helmet to ride with it and the entire time I rode with it I ate shit. Haven't put it on since. I know it was probably a mental thing and I'm sure I could probably do it now but I just don't see the point. Most of the time if i fuck up I hit my tailbone/knees more than anything. I do wear hard knee pads though.
