honestly, none right now, but our family went to the desert with some friends and i really liked it, rode in a buggy over the whoops at ~55-60 and i think i want my truck to be able to do that.

Then get a second DD frist of all. Cause shit is gonna break.

next if your not going at fabricating..save up like 20k or more.

gonna need like 7k for the front suspension then about 8-10 for the rear.

Will need new bed sides and fenders as well. Lots of reinforcement to frame and gussets for LCAs and other stuff possibly an engine cage..sky is the limit.

Or..get a buggy and drive the piss outa it.

Building a chase truck is sweet..but freakin expensive and takes the DD ability almost completely out of the truck.

If you don't do any wheeling..then start off slow. GO wheeling as it sits now. Don't go jumping it or anything but take it on some trails or dirt roads. Go camping. Build up to it. gain knowledge on what you really want out of the truck before you drop 15k or more in just suspension.

    Just my thoughts though..

for a DD i think a older tundra, just cause i don't drive a lot and when i do drive it'd be short distance or towing our boat to lake mead.

i'm gonna learn how to fab,i have a good buddy in arizona that said he could teach me.

i've been looking at the cost and figured keep it stock for now, and build up parts.

i'm thinking the TC kit with fox CO's.

i have to glass fenders anyway 'cause my spindle lift.

the reason i was thinking a 3.4 swap was when i pull the engine/ tranny i can reinforce the frame and mounts easier.

i would also do a full cage as you mentioned.

i could build a buggy, but IMO the truck "feels" safer :not sure:

what i meant by not wheeling is i never just go out to go off road, but when we go shooting its a decent trail, its just wider than the truck, and in 2 spots if you aren't careful you can drop a wheel into a ditch that'll hang you up on the axle.

as far as i know, almost everythings the same except CO's,and kits.

you have no idea how many times i've thought of that, then i decided that i'd rather keep my cab and swap frames.

they aren't? whats different? i was informed that the only differences or the 5 lug and 6 lugs was suspension.

maybe after college. if i move to AZ i don't think i'd need 4x4, but my tundy will have 4x4.

well the V6 and 4banger has some differences. have to cut a bigger hole for the transfer case.

    Heat shields are different.

and in the bay some stuff doesn't mount the same.

and other small stuff. Nothing drastic. I swapped a 5 lugger 4 banger body on my truck this summer after i rolled it. took 2 months of hard long work.

it was way cheaper then buying a new truck..but if you don't have a big ass shop and tools..not worth it.

so it's nothing a sawzall and sheetmetal screws couldn't fix.

i might look into the cab swap,my uncle has a big wharehouse for a shop and the company he works for encourages little projects, as long as it doesn't interfere with there work.

I took your advice and just ordered a rebuild kit for my coilovers! Been needing to do it! Im gonna regear the front, rebuild the coilovers and maybe put on some TC spindle gussets all at the same time. Probably the end of the month though
