    I think we are confusing terms here..

    wheel base is distance from front wheel..to rear wheel.

    your all talking width im pretty sure..

    Well I dont ever have too much problem turning and I didnt think between 4 doors it would matter too much. Its the length that gets me. I have yet to do a trail where I dont drag my ass.

    Well thats mostly due to just the low hanging ass of 2nd gen design really..

    nothing a HC bumper can fix :cool:

    Well it's not dumb if you research a SAS. Im gonna put dana 60's under the truck to be able to handle 44's and if i wanna flex i need to push the front and rear out so i can clear the cab.

    As far as wider goes as long as your tire stick out wider who cares just run shit over :burnrubber:, and as far as truning radius goes well that's y im putting in a atles 4 speed. so i can do front digs. lock the ass end breaks down and just spin the fronts with the wheels truned will make a corner really short.

    A DCSB compared to a 1st gen is a whole 3" difference in turning radius. It is 2 or 3 feet more comparing a DCLB to a 1st gen, but still what is an extra 2-3 feet on top of 20 feet already. Not much of a difference really.

    I have yet to really see anybody belly scrape much, which is what the longer wheel base will cause.

    Ass scraping is cause my the over hang past the rear axle. Has nothing to do with wheel base.

    High clearance rear FTW and bobbed bed FTMFW!:D haha

    I'm hoping to get in a high clearance rear now but we will see how that goes...

    well this is mostly true if you plan on running leaf spring in the front. as the leaves flatten towards full stuff the axle moves towards the rear of the truck. kind of a leaf spring characteristic. bigger the tires the further forward u gotta move the axle. but the rear is hard to say. yu would have to yank the bed off and place the 44 u wanna run right next to ur tire now and see if it is close to the cab......

    After I saw pictures I was thinking the same thing about the wyo meet. My truck might have been fine if it was like it is now, but then I would have been screwed.

    The length has made really tight switchbacks more of a pain, but nothing a quick reverse can't take care of. Steep climbs will be a little more stable but it's the belly scraping in some situations that's the real disadvantage of a DCLB (I think). I love this truck though and after wheeling it a couple times I realize that it will kill it if you just give it a chance. Sliders and a couple strategically-placed skids will make her even more capable, only because I will be willing to try more shit.

    i have a double cab there is a total of 4 inchs of bed behind the cab and ive already started trimming it so it will clear 35's im gonna link the front and leaf the rear but as big as 44's are im still thinking it's gonna get streched quite a bit.
