anyone have any sort of comparison between the iphone and galaxy when it comes to interfacing with the entune system? I searched this thread for entune and it came up with nothing. any pros/cons? any special functionality one has over the other when using the entune system?

ive had a droid, and an iphone. i have the 5 now, I have compared it with my friends s3's in multiple ways, the 5 has a MUCH better camera. regardless of the megapixels on the s3, the 5 has a better proccessor and i think the design is much better, also one thing i hate about the s3, its WAY to big. the 5 is perfect fit for your hand you can text with one hand while walking, with a phone as big as the s3, thats quite the task. the s3, has much more possiblities being that its a droid they let you do whatever you want, but one thing i have noticed about iphones, THEY LAST FOREVER, you could have the iphone 4 right now updated all the way to the ios6 software, they just dont allow droids to update that high, the s3 will be replaced by a bettter droid in a few months, and you will be dissapointed. with the 5 you will have the best iphone for a long time. go with the 5 :D

This post probably doesn't belong here but,

Which is the best offroad navigation app for the Iphone 5? I need to be able to upload maps of racecourses and such. Also need it to pin me as I'm on course and moving. Maybe even make new routes, similar to the Lawrence GPS units. Is there anything out there?

Long time user/buyer with iPhone's. After having the iPhone 4s there really wasn't much I could look forward to with the 5. I could update my 4s to ios6 and be just as happy. But, I decided to go down a different road this time and bought the S3 ($50 bucks on black Friday). Let me just say I'm utterly blown away. I've jailbroken every single iPhone I've had (3g,3s,4,4s) and this phone will do all of that out of the box. Grant it, different levels of technology inclined users will require different preferences. This phone isn't for everyone. The iPhone 5 and the S3 are both great phones, which have both advantages and disadvantages. For someone who wants a very user friendly device with tons of capability and accessories, stick with the iphone. But if you're an electronic guru like me who loves digging deep into their devices, you will love the S3 and it's plentiful possibilities. Did I mention I love this freakin' big screen!!

One of the things I like about Android on top of what you stated, is the hardware choices. Just because I like Android doesn't mean I have to have a Samsung or a Motorola phone. If you want to use iOS, your only choices are current hardware, or old hardware.

I'm a no0b when it comes to rooting. I've always been the jailbreak guru when it comes to my friends and stuff. I don't know where to even begin with rooting or what the benefits are considering this phone already does so much without it.

The method for rooting will be different for each Android device. The benefits though are total control of the device. Using different ROMs, different kernels, more control over certain hardware functions you didn't have before. Maybe even a few I could mention that may violate the guidelines of this forum....

Well I know for a fact that rooting can allow you to uninstall those pesky pre-loaded apps that you can't uninstall otherwise. That alone will make me root it.

What I really want to know is if rooting will allow this damn thing to play via usb on my cd player. That bummed me out when I lost that ability. I guess that's the lack of "mass storage" recognition. I did however find a website helping with that, but the phone has to be rooted.

many benefits like being able to tether with out any carrier charges (main reason why i did it to my HTC Thunderbolt), being able to change ROMs, being able to get rid of all useless pre-installed apps…etc

I don't know why Samsung has been doing that. My non-Samsung Androids are recognized as USB Mass Storage when I plug them in.

Yes rooting will allow you to get rid of the bloat, install custom ROMs, overclock or underclock, etc. I was in the process of rooting my phone about a week ago, until I heard the JB release was right around the corner. Its actually really easy and there are usually utilities that basically make it one click and it runs itself.

Check out Xda developers.com. they have everything you need to root, install ROMs, etc.

See, to me the iPhone 5 is too small. I've had large screen android phones for a long time and just cant go back to a tiny screen. I'm on the note 2 now. Its funny because a lot of people I know carry around a iPhone and an Ipad. Much prefer to just carry around my giant phone.. :) The amount of things this phone can do are insane. I love the s-pen.

I would say make sure SU and busybox are up to date. Wi-Fi Tether and DroidWall are good apps to have.

The last time I used tethering/hot spot (jailbroken iphone) I got a call from AT&T saying they were gonna change my unlimited plan to the 5gig plan. Apparently they can tell with the irregular in/out data transferring change. I'm sure they can still tell with this phone.

I did download busybox but have no clue what it is/does at this point.
