I had my first set of Duratracs for about 45,000 miles and they were good in the snow and for wheeling, i'm on my second set now.:)
Next tires i get i might try something different and more aggressive.:D

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I've had work done at Auburn and N Attleboro stores and had good luck.

This is true. The kid that did my duratracs had a lifted truck with 37s on it. He said if they didn't balance the way he'd like he'd break the bead and spin the tire on the wheel to get it bettter. I can let go of the wheel at 80. No drifting or shaking at any speed.

I like mine a lot but they are heavy.

One of the reasons they appeal to me so much is because they are supposedly one of the best ATs in the snow, and i love driving in the snow, plus they look awesome and they are more practical than a MT for me. I was ganna say buy those MTRs and sell me your duratracs but i see you have 16s :(

I'm back guys. What a long dam week this is being with work and such.

I have read a lot about them. Maybe too much cause my mind keeps going in circles. I hate it.If your going with 285s, there gonna be heavy. No matter what tire you buy, 285s are gonna be heavy and affect your millage. If you don't care then yeah go with the duratracs. They only come in load d or e in that size so yeah pretty heavy. I read so much and they all say there great in the snow. That they grip super well and preform well. But just a thought that we have to keep up on the rotating. Every 5k. If you don't do that they wont last as long. I was looking for them in the load c and since there compound is soft, i would have to do it every 4k lol. So yeah there good if you keep up and maintain them

I'm running 265/75/16 now but would like to get off the ground a little more. I really don't want new wheels.

Nice! Thanks for the advice man, ya i rotate every oil change. And now knowing this i would probably pay closer attention to how they are wearing. Im pretty much sold on these tires i just need to pull the trigger.

Jon, I would look at a 270/70/16 or perhaps a 275/70. If you like the current width of the 265, then bump up the sidewall height, maybe 265/85/16 if those exist even...

DIBS ON THE WHEELS IF THEY FIT AND YOU GET DIFFERENT ONES!!!

Your welcome dude. There nice tires and what I like about them is that they look mean . Such deep thread. People think there a mud tire when there really an at lol. How much did you find them for a price. They want for a 265 tire, about 240 for load c. Bunch of crap, cause when they first came out, you could get them for 140 a tire. Prices always go up.

Thanks !, Yeah , the "beadlock" aren't real, just for show so i left 'em off.

These wheels in black are really hard to get now it seems; easier in bronze color.

That's what I'm wondering; can I bump up the sidewall and how far without loosing stability. I think I'd have to get a E rated tire with reinforced side walls.

Have you considered pizza cutters? 255/85/16. Not much of a selection in that size though

The prices i have looked at for the 285s are a little higher than that, i haven't shopped around to much because i have already accepted the fact that goodyear is going to ass rape my wallet.
