Oh, I didn't think you had tinted headlights, at least not in the pictures you posted of your retrofit. You're right, sounds like he was on a powertrip all by himself.

I have considered it but I'm still running into the no temporary car wall with any plan I think of.

    I really want that celica

Even if it's a year out, I don't think that stuff will hurt your transmission. might actually help it engage better so it's not slipping as much and just burning up.

Removed my carpet, let everything dry, cleaned everything, and just finished putting my interior back together!

OH, I read that wrong. I thought you meant a rebuild kit. I've never heard of that to be honest, but I can give it a shot definitely. What's it gonna hurt if it doesn't work? My transmission is already fucked beyond 100% repair lol

I'm not 100% sure how they work but I think it's just a friction modifier to help limp a dying automatic transmission through the last miles of it's life. I wouldn't put it into a perfectly good transmission but, if it's on it's way out anyways, it might make things better.

Do a little research on the different options though. I've heard some are extreme and can make things gum up. A shop down in VA used to put some crap in all of our work truck transmissions. They were little 4-banger Rangers and we hauled 1,000 lbs pretty much all day every day on construction sites so they needed all the help they could get. The additive seemed to help the most when the transmission was already slipping badly. It made it shift normal for another 4 - 6 months so it was just a means to an end. Afterwards, the slipping came back, then got worse, then the tranny was FUBAR.

They are modifiers. Alex this may be hard to learn but rebuilt it yourself. You'll save THOUSANDS. Scale for 1-10 in hardness it's getting it out lol the rebuild takes an hour or so.

You can even remove the trans and have the shop rebuild it. I almost did this and that would have been a $500 rebuild. R&R&R is a Ton of labor money

I'm thinking of removing it and bringing it to a shop. Just have to get a temporary car

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Question for you guys with duratracs...how does the tread on these look to you?
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354229682.072964.jpg

The guy claims the tread has 16/32 left (don't know if that is accurate)new it is 18/32. They look pretty new but he doesn't know how many miles are on them, he took them off a used truck he bought, previous owner said they were almost brand new. I am probably going to buy them if i can get his price down, he is looking for $650

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Evan, those do look very good. The little cups at the end of every other tread block near the sidewall is not very deep and those appear to be almost new. Good deal especially if you can talk them down a little bit.

He'd have to pay an under age fee at $20 a day on top of the rental car fee and charges they tack on. It will be cheaper than buying that celica along with TTR and Insurance

to me it would be cheaper to rent a car for a week $35 a day then go buy a second car , pay taxes on it, register it, inspect it. all that running around sitting at the rmv .
