Widgeon are my favorite so thats good.

2 weeks i am in. Seeing a lot of new birds move into Mission Bay every morning. Starting to see few geese and divers along with the standards. Some Bufflehead and ringnecks no real movement of sea ducks yet though.

I've only gone once this year with zero birds spotted, still hott down here. I'm off work in a couple weeks, gonna try to hit them hard then when the second split starts back up.

Early season went well for us here in SC... Saw a fair amount of Mallards that were decoying well which is always a good thing... I just moved to SC so I am trying to figure out exactly where to go and get some good blinds set up. I am in the market for a new choke for my Nova. I have been reading a lot of good things about the Kicks High Flyer chokes and it has been recommended by several fellow hunters. What are some other good chokes out there? What are your recommendations? Also, is it really worth the $60 to upgrade chokes? I am on a college budget (tight budget*) but I am considering this a Christmas gift to myself!

Where do you watch? I chase birds all over CA and am lucky enough to get stopped by what seems like every officer/warden there is out there.

Duck hunter / Taco guy in east Tennessee here. Any of you guys on the refuge site? I've got the same user name there also. Didn't get to go this past weekend but hoping to hit the water next weekend and it sounds like ducks are here.

    Anyone seen these?

I'm only hunting in the upstate... Mostly on lake hartwell and a couple of the creeks and rivers that run into the lake... The lake is so low right now it is hard to find any water. We need a couple good rains...

That's right. I had not seen them before the other day. I may need a set of those. How's your all season going so far?

I use to be a big water diver hunter and this past year I sold all my diver gear and trying to change over to pond hunting. I kept 2 dozen Herter 72's and I got a feeling I'll only need a half dozen or less. Going from setting out 6 - 8 dozen dekes on long lines to 6 total is kind of nice.

Anyways, good meeting you guys and have a safe season...........10ga

I'm in west TN. Hunted last weekend for the opener, we killed 3 woodies. Not sure if we hunted a bad spot but I'll try again. Wondering if anyone else in West TN did well.
