Yeah I have them on my truck and now my dad is needing some, so throughout the winter I will be piecing together a lift for his truck.

They are from a Chevy truck. Way beefier then our leafs and yes. Less makes them more flexy

You got it. :) They were originally a 3-leaf pack, I just took out the middle leaf...

The front hangers actually proved to be quite a pain since I warped them in :anonymous: when I laid down my massive weave beads on the inside....

At least I know they aren't going anywhere!! A little bfh and grinding, and the springs went right in.

It was a bout this time that I realized my shackle angle was a lot more flat than I wanted! I had measured everything to get a nice 45 degree angle! It was then that I realized 63" chevy leaf springs are not. :) They are 64" long  This new shackle angle will not translate into a better ride on the street, but it's actually perfect for getting the most out of the 14" shocks during droop. And I made sure the leaf flattens out before the shackle does, so it's actually not too bad.

Actually not much money at all. A lot of time, yes... I enjoy it, and I want to sell it as a completed build. I think I can get more out of it than if I were to sell it as a half-finished project truck.

lol With the way I wheel?????? The nature of wheeling hard, is breaking a lot of junk. And using it as a light wheeler would be blasphemy! plus, I need to save the money I get from the sale...
haha  The nature of the mod bug.... It bites some harder than others! lol

"Measuring" for shocks. Since I already had them, I just had to figure out the best places for the mounts...

As much droop as I dared with my sketchy hi-lift on concrete!! Good thing I got the 60" instead of the 48"... hahahaha
    025-2_2884f033ba51306d7890f4c9b488faa8606cc1d9.jpg
    026-4_6f91192ab1d69cb32ae27d7b6a31ea96751f2746.jpg

My jacks are all too small, and I didn't want to drive 45min to the nearest trail, so this is how I measured full stuff. :D (I still have to wash off the black tire marks from the brick :anonymous:)

    033-2_5dfbf84b4c2fe0e7c908d7c77722fe9648097542.jpg

Decided were I was going to weld the mounts... prep time. had to bend some brake lines on the axle.

    037-2_c57a6567f27861d76a7213ecc70ec1eeeb3be65c.jpg

I cheated on the upper mounts.... :D Didn't go throught the bed! but sorta disfigured it a little.... I thought it was brilliant. :p
    034-2_1d5c607c59685391d52edd0dee33c2e779740f72.jpg

tacked thin backing plates to the mounts with eveything assembled to make sure I got the right width on the mounts...

    all neat and tidy
    048-2_ae8a191dbffb7fe80634c3dff54f9744ca3c44b7.jpg

Final stance is quite a bit lower than before. :) I think I like it....

    047-1_1df67ba176d20b119dc2ccf18822145a430f12ef.jpg

If it's getting this kind of droop, I can't wait to go flex it out somewhere...

Still a good 3" of shaft still in that shock. And judging by the shackle angles... I think I may be able to use most of it once the springs are broken in more.

monte you just need to weld some super long bars at a 105 degree angle shooting out of your rack, with little wheels at the ends

    your truck would be unstoppable
