Well, in my case, I used a framing hammer, WD-40, ZEP 45, a ton of words I can’t use here (including a dialog about Toyota engineers skills of building a great truck, but screwing up something as simple as an E-brake) and then I just let it soak in the penetrating fluid for a day or two.

Ohh, you should have someone in the cab working the E-brake, makes it way easier to tell if it’s releasing or not.

thats a good video but i don't know if that would cause the whole body of my truck to shake ....mine moves side to side and front and back

im going to get a video of the shakes for you guys to analyze and maybe we can see if we all have the same issue

oh and i gotta thank everyone for pondering over this one with me...we just gotta find a fix !!!

Ok so this boggles my mind ....i took the truck out to get a video of the shaking. And to my amazement i actually got up to about 85mph/150kmph

its been a month since i've done any highway driving, but since then i've rotated the tires ...

but after reading all the stuff on the e brake I'm thinking that thats a very likely reason for the shaking as often when i us the e brake the light stays on even though i have released the brake full way

I'm gonna look more in the brake issue ....i'll let you guys know the results ...but for the time being my truck seems to be normal ....yippee

watch the video very closely.......you can see the drive shaft moving backward and forward, and thats basically axle wrap ina nutshell......the springs are flexing way too easy.

yeah....a toytec aal will help the problem greatly....but it wont fully solve it. you can also try a set of helper springs from autozone........they'll do roughly the same thing. about the only way to fully get rid of axle wrap is with a set of traction bars...but they are hella expensive. the aal will make a good difference for you.

Can you use a AAL and helper springs? Won't that make it ride rough.

well..........kinda, but not really. you'll still have the leaves.......the traction bar just keeps the axle lined up straight.

Well, I checked my e brake and couldn't tell if it was sticking or not. I shot it all up with WD40 just in case... Today I bought some new (to me) wheels to replace my set cause I found one of my wheels was bent; they were old and ugly anyhow. The guy I bought them from was a bit out of my way and I got some serious freeway time in. Still some vibration, but it was rare and not as intense as usual. Hmmm... I'm guessing the brake issue has been amplifying the wheel issue? I also just changed out fluid in the tranny, transfer, front & rear diff cases but I don't think that would affect anything. I'll post up once I've mounted up the new wheels - I've gotta paint those suckers first! Hope everybody else is having better luck.
