Whelp, after cruising TW for about 2 months (once the slipping began, ever so slightly) and seeking insight and info on the clutch issue with the 5spds. I believe I finally have a case to get it replaced under warranty (hopefully). My truck has 31,7XX miles and noticeably slips in 3rd and 4th gear under moderate acceleration. I have seen on TW where others have tried to get their clutch replaced under warranty with no avail.

If anyone has any insight or tips regarding this matter, It would be greatly appreciated. I dont feel (and Im sure many would agree) that I should have to pay for a new clutch given the mileage of the truck...Wear item or not it should not fail this early. Also anyone have it where the TSB 006611 was applied and got a new clutch from it?....I take the truck in tomorrow at lunch time

Good luck with that. I doubt they will replace a wear item under warranty.

    I know I wouldn't.

My last truck I sold it with the original brakes and clutch this year and it was 20 years old ...

Not that it really adds any incite to your dilemma but my 4 cyl 4x4 Tacoma has almost the same exact mileage and is fine.

Did you buy it brand new?? I bought mine used and while everything seems well taken care of I sometimes wonder how the previous owner treated things.

Bought it brand new. From what I can gather from others on the forum...it depends on the dealer on who will cover it. I know there are a handful of service bulletins out there for the truck. There were two clutches used for these trucks the bad one (Luk) which they have been having problems with premature wear from the start and the good one (aisin) which people are content with. The clutch shouldnt be wearing out this early and am no trying to spend the money to replace it when it is not my fault it prematurely wore out. Ill post again when I get back from the dealer later this afternoon.
