Yeah, I'm almost there and have no plans to change my oil weight. I'm running 5W-30 Mobil 1.

Toyota specifies for your vehicle to use only 5W30 oil. There are of course several different oil brands to choose from, as well as some "high-mileage" oils that are still 5W30.

    100k is nothing.
Mine will be rolling 80k in the next week, I'm about 500 miles overdue for an oil change, and when I pulled the dipstick a couple of days ago the oil looked brand new.

There's no reason to switch from 5W30. Brand and formula are your choice. One dealer I talked to last year uses Valvoline products.

Since around 40k miles I've been using either Mobil1 or Penzoil Platinum 5W30 synthetic. Whichever has the better sale going on when I need it.

I'm over 115,000 miles now and it's like Rich said, still seems to be in fairly good condition when I drain it after 5000-6000 miles. I'm just not comfortable with longer intervals between changes.

I think best for ya is putting in what ever u have been putting, for example if its convention 5W-30 keeping doing so, brand doesn't matter I rotate around Mobil 5000, Pennzoil, or Valveline I don't think it makes a difference, I don't know much about this but u might want to avoid synthetic oil due to amount of mileage on ur engine, I think it would cause leaks and other issues..I don't know if u can still go with high mileage..I would think by now ur engine is conditioned to get what ever its getting and it's better not to change that..idk I'd love go synthetic sounds great and help protect engines from people's trucks from here , but having 99k on my truck I don't think I can do that..

I have 106,150 on my 2008, bought it new and used 5w30 and what ever was the cheapest at walmart. So mostly it was the Mobil 5000 and i use a K&N oil filter.

    Are you burning oil?
I would just keep running the same oil you have been running, but if you want you can use or change to anything you want in the weight the manual specifies...

    Royal Purple is shit.

They spend more money on the purple dye and advertising than they do on the product.

    http://personal.linkline.com/rlockyer/oil/oil.xls

That is a set of UOAs on various 20w50 products used in my motorcycle.
The Royal Purple did not hold up any better than Castrol GTX.

I see no reason to believe that the 5w30 would be any better.

    Not an issue.

There used to be issues with some of the early synthetics and the older seals (talking 1970s here), but what it boils down to on a modern engine is if synthetic "causes" leaks, the leaks were already there, just plugged by the sludge built up from running too long between oil changes.

If there are no leaks, the engine and undercarriage are clean (indicating no small leaks that are being blown back but not "dripping"), and the oil on the dipstick looks good, there is no reason that switching to synthetic will cause leaks.
