I think the word float is a poor choice here since the tire doesn't really float in the snow, it just packs the snow down underneath it giving it characteristic that it is floating, but it really isn't. The more the snow is packed the more weight it can hold. Bigger surface area packs more snow at once and therefore you don't sink as far.

    I said that:rolleyes:

I would say a tire "floats" more than a cat track does though.

TRD super charger, URD fuel mods and 2.1 super grip pully, Headers, 2.5" glass pack, Dana 60 front 4 linked, 14bolt rears on chev 63's, 5.38 gears, ARB locker in the front, PSC full hydraulic steering, 18" SAW 2.5" triple rate coils overs, FOA 2.5 air bumps, B&M launch controls, B&M trans cooler, 4 alpine 6X8 type R's amped, Red led rock lights, CBI front and rear bumpers (my design) CBI sliders, 4 riggid dualys front 2 in the rear, custom track bar, ARB snorkle, warn VR8000 winch, Viair 480c twin compressers..
Another reason tracks perform so well is the drive wheel is like a 1/3 the size of a tire. lower speeds in the snow mean more grip instead of just digging down like a tire does when it spins too fast. some guys in the SIK club built their own for like 1K for the set.

Me im a simple person and im just gonna run the biggest tire i can on a bead lock rim with crawl gears and like 2PSI.

Wrap around the bumper and jam under the wheel then back up on it to try to torque the bumper down rather than just trying to push the bumper back into place.

    thanks guys.

When the bumper bent those rocks twisted it upward. So I want the tow strap to try to do the opposite. Backing into a tree may just push the bumper into the frame/body, or just dent it rather than twisting it back into place.

I don't know... haha. Not sure about a replacement yet. Ben said he can make me one but I need to approve the funds through the wife (if I want to stay married, or at least happily married) and might be iffy due to all the money I have already thrown into the Taco over the last year... So if I take it off I might have no bumper for a while and run the risk of banging up body, plus it would look stupid if I didn't remove the tow package with the bumper...
