noise in transmission

Hi all,
I have a 2005 2WD base taco 2.7 5speed and have a funny noise. at startup, it's fine. After it warms up, the truck sounds like a deisel when it's ideling. At first, I thought it was lifter noise or something in the engine. However, I've discovered that if I push in the clutch, the noise goes away. It's been doing it for a while, but I think it's getting louder.

Do you think it's the clutch or something in the trans? Does anyone else experience this?

id say its your throw out bearing..IMHO

 

Check your clutch or like he said^^ you throw out bearing

 

2009 Base 4-cyl 5-spd. Same noise but only when the AC compressor is engaged (corresponding to a specific idle speed). No noise at other idle speeds or with clutch pedal in. Only 2,500 miles too.

 

Dood- Take it to the dealer. You are still under warranty...If you are worried about it- don't pout- Get them to look at it.

 

No doubt I can easily take it there. But I predict I'll get the "they all do that" runaround. Will wait until it gets worse.

 

To the original poster.... probably the throw out bearing as said. I'm not sure on these trucks but most other cars I had I just ignored it as it's really not that big of a deal and would wait until the clutch gives out completely.

For the '09.. take it in... you have nothing to lose and it's documented early there was an issue from the start. That way even if they don't do anything, you'll have ammo for later if it becomes more drastic.

It has 85,000 miles on it, so it probably won't be too much longer before it needs a clutch. As long as it safe to drive, I can put up with some noise. I'll just turn the stereo up.
