i started using a helmet about half way through the season, i just dont think its worth it to risk it when i could just wear a helmet and feel more comfortable riding at the same time

yeah, thats what one of my friends says. says it’s just stupid to wear it any other time. and they look stupid and stuff. but i don’t really care what he thinks.
yeah i don’t think the risk is worth it either. most the time i have a some what thick hat on so that helps. but not like a helmet would.

The right helmet makes all the difference. I had one that I would only wear if I was riding big shit, but its not worth the risk. We're dealing with ice, rocks, trees, rails, high speed, high airs... Stupid not to wear one.
I have a Bern Baker in carbon fiber and I have the ear flaps with ear phones in them. I didn't know snowboarding could get any more awesome until I bought this helmet.

Before I sell it I'll attempt to give it another shot. It's going to be tough getting used to it. Plus how will everyone see my sexy beanie with it on?!

Like I said, the right helmet makes all the difference. If you don't think yours looks cool you won't feel cool wearing it. Mine is the one Jeremy jones wears so I know its bad ass :D

Personally I would never wear a pro tec helmet on a mountain except for on a mountain bike. But when I ride mountain creek bike park I wear a full face down hill helmet

Bern baker carbon fiber. Right now I can't find anything to suggest that he wears it. Maybe I saw it in a video or something

yeah. but i know a lot of people that do park and don’t even own one. i’d guess that most injuries are in the park.(i’m not 100% sure, just my guess)

ya i don’t give in to friends trying to get me to jump and stuff. i would like to start jumping some. but when i fill i’m ready.

maybe its the burton jeremy jones? idk im guessing he would wear a red or whatever its called oh well haha
thats very interesting, i was going to say that its probably the progression of the sport and that people are going bigger and bigger every year but i would think all injuries during snowboarding/skiing would increase not just head injuries like they believe. i definitely want to see them do a complete study on this to see whats up

You also have to remember that study only shows correlation and does not show or imply causation. I agree that people are going bigger, which could be a possible cause for the increase in injuries (not just head injuries, but I think that article only considered head injuries, other studies have shown that skiing is more deadly than snowboarding and snowboarding produces more injuries), but I also believe that helmets and goggles negatively affect your peripheral vision, listening to music basically takes away one of your senses, and helmets give people a false sense of security.

Teton Pass in Wy rode pretty good today, a foot of fresh, and expecting 2 more feet by monday. Unfortunately rain down below 8500ft and Jackson is wet with rain. At least its only Dec 1!
