Went to the gas station today to find this: low-lifes in this world. At least they didn't break my windows or steal anything other than gas.

After filing a police report and dropping by the auto store I fixed it with a repair kit.

wow.... are poeple really that low? that is some sad stuff right there. glad it was an easy fix man still would look into replacing tank. I dont trust repair kits, tires to tanks... my .02

Yeah I'll keep an eye on the repair. It has fiberglass mesh in the epoxy and seemed really strong.

If someone is that desperate for gas I probably would have given them a few bucks for gas if they asked. Rather than feel violated and have my vehicle drilled into.

That truly disappoints, and I'm sorry to read that. Where are you located, and where were you parked?

It either happened at my apartment complex or at the Academy sports store I went to the night before. Betting on my apartment complex because I didn't smell gas the night before.

Yeah I spent years overseas where the Japanese didn't like us and never had anything bad happen. Come back to the states and within one month have this happen. Welcome home lol.

    damn man that sucks!

also i see it may have happened at your apartment complex. did you piss anyone off? reason i ask is it looks like the hole is offaly high on the tank, looks like they could go lower and get more gas. :notsure: may just be the pic. and thank you for your service!

Not that I know of. I've only been here a month, and about two weeks in the apartment haha. Don't even know anyone in the complex yet.

It is rather high in the tank. I'm guessing they wanted to siphon it vs having the entire tank drain at once. Or they didn't want gas all over their drill.

Also the police said it has happened in the area recently. I'm not the only victim here. They also said what I was thinking: "too bad it didn't spark on them".

That...and they probably wanted to be able to set your tank up for routine siphonings. Maybe they were scared off prior to being able to put in a brass valve in there and just tap your tank quickly.

Lol.... My friend was getting his gas stolen all the time on his old Chevy tow truck so he set them up. Being a dual tank set up he parked it up against a building and put diesel in the exposed tank. They never stole gas from him again!

That scares me. Feel like mounting a gopro under my truck to catch them.
