hey guys, crutchfield says that i can’t have a fold down face. they won’t work with the tacoma is this true?

the p4400BH says it’s a “6.95" motorized touchscreen with multi-angle adjustments” so will this not work?

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature

It is an excellent head unit. I got the 8400, but almost the same thing with a few fancy but unnecessary features.

Yes, you can hook up a camera, even the stock one if you have one.

That extension is a waste IMO. IF you get the 4400 AND the iPod cable, it will have a USB connection on the cable you can connect to.

Ignore that note from Crutchfield, it will fit, I guarantee it. Hundreds of members have that unit, it fits fine. May require a little trimming depending on the dash kit you get and the way you install it, but thats usually not needed. (and I mean trimming of the kit, not the radio)

TRD E-locker rear axle swap, Cherrybomb Extreme muffler, custom made CAI, 2.5" spacer lift up front and AAL's in the rear, Sport model seat swap, Pioneer X940BT, Kicker shallow 10" and 12" behind the back seat
Updated my Pioneer X930BT to the newer firmware on the X940BT today and gained new maps, AND native Pandora Radio functions via my bluetooth connected Android :) I love this radio!

    468581_457334280970425_735767969_o_8f715795f61144b31f31ca7d379bd17a09cbe5c6.jpg

After that I pulled my sub box out from behind my rear seat. It's been making a horrible noise, like the sub was bottoming out... So I pulled the sub out of the box to take a look and see if I could see anything physically wrong with it. The sub looked fine, but upon inspecting the box I noticed that I had literally blown it apart!!! The Kicker CVT 10" in it moved so much air it popped the back of the box completely off on one side despite the staples and glue the box was put together with... So I ran some 2" screws into it and resealed it, put the sub back in it and reinstalled it into the truck, and I'm SO glad that's all it was and not a blown $80 speaker, LOL. Sounds AMAZING again!

    210881_424401770930343_585933103_o_2ff0139c281acdfd00339b498a3a1825ec4a5749.jpg

Next project, door speakers! Might order the adapters tonight and then all I'll have left to get are some rear door speakers. I have some Rockford Fosgate Punch P1694 6x9's for the front already.

Also plan on making an amp rack to take the amp off the floor and also trim the factor panels that go on the back of the cab so they can be reinstalled around the sub box and amp for a little cleaner look. Not that I ever see it as it is right now, but it looks a little sloppy right now when somebody asks me "what's back there?" and I have to lean the seat forward and show them all that bare sheet metal, lol.

How does the garmin based navi work on your pioneer unit? Is it similar to the portable gps units? I have read you now have to pull over to input navi choices?? Im trying to decide on a replacement for my factory hu in my 08. Time to get out of the stone age and get some good sounding tunes! Been looking at the Pioneers and Kenwoods because they both use garmin navi data.

Actually, the navigation in the X series like I have is Navteq, not Garmin. Before I had this unit (or the Pioneer D3 before it), I was using a stand alone Garmin GPS unit, and I really came to like the Garmin navigation, but this Navteq power navigation seems to perform equally well. In my opinion, better than having to use a cell phone's GPS via Google Maps or something. Use to always piss me off so bad because I would be trying to use the GPS on my phone going somewhere where I've never been, and right when I get to a point where I have to make a lot of turns onto roads, someone calls me and I get lost...

If installed by the book, they don't allow you to mess with he navigation while driving, nor do they let you play a DVD unless the vehicle is in park... However, with Pioneer units, it's EXTREMELY easy to bypass for FREE just by moving a wire in the harness and grounding it.

If you go with Pioneer, check out the AVIC411 forum; TONS of helpful info in there about pretty much any Pioneer double din radio, as well as how-to's on hacking and modifying them

I ordered front and rear sets from him last night, so those should be in this week. Not sure if I'll go ahead and put the fronts in since I already have the 6x9's, or if I'll just wait until I get the matching 5 1/4's for the rear and do them all at once

I was going to wait before I put anything in until I got a small 4 channel amp, but I noticed yesterday that this Pioneer X930BT outputs 50watts per channel, so we'll see how that works out first.

That looks absolutely beautiful. How does the system sound? Are the vocals clear or overpowered by the subs?

dammm... is the box ported? is the amps below the window line how much power? full setup break down and where did you get the seats?? I wanted to do something exactly like this but settled for a box and not a custom mold.

The box is ported through the center console. And I'm not exactly sure on everything that is in there. All I know is you can't breathe in there and it turns quite a few heads! If you want answers to your questions you can contact my brother on his instagram @onthegoaudio He can answer any question about this truck. I'm just whoring some pictures around for him.
