I just recieved a set of Pro Comp 16X8 7089 wheels. But I think I have the wrong type. I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 TRD Off Road. The Pro Comp Wheels are stamped 7089-6838. I believe these wheels are hub centric and I need lug centric. Are these the correct wheels for my truck? Thanks

Alright, I did a test fit and they DO NOT fit. The 7089-6838s are HUB Centric wheels that are for Chevy trucks with smaller hub center bore.

So I know someone is gonna comment about how I should have test fitted and that Im a newb blah, blah, blah. Im pretty good with doing research on parts for my truck but I bough these in a rush on my lunch hour. I brought a tape measure to check the lugs and backspacing but I totally forgot differences in the center bore size, The guy said they came off a Tacoma. So I guess he lied or just didnt know. Well anyone wanna buy some Chevy wheels?

You can have a machine shop bore them out to 106+mm

I would go back to the guy and ask for a refund. He obviously did not know or he lied to you. Did you buy them new or used?

Chevy hub is larger than ours, that is what most rims are made to which is why they are lug centric. If you buy hub centric wheels they are alot more expensive. Am i correct on the chevy having larger bore or just talking out my ass.

Chevy hubs are smaller. 78mm vs 106 for the Tacoma.

Bought them used off Craigslist so there is no way Im getting my money back. The guy I bought the wheels from got them from someone else just for the tires and then sold the wheels to me. Live and learn, I got them for cheap so I just reposted them on Craigslist. Hopefully Ill get my money back.

X2. If you like the wheels then this might be an easier option then trying to get your money back.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Part number for 6 lug with Pro Comp should end with 83 like 7089-6883.
