LOL. That struck me as pretty funny. The Prius and Camry need all the gimmicks they can get. The Tacoma doesn't. Personally, I prefer something a little more secure than automatic this or automatic that. A physical key in my hand, along with a physical ignition switch, is a good start. But, to each his own I guess. Good luck with your install.

The system has a tach learning feature. So push the button once and it knows when to stop cranking.

Here's my pushbutton start. Its the Dowontech st800 someone had mentioned. Unfortunately they are not bringing it into the US any longer. Had a minor problem with a relay with it last week, but it was an easy fix. Otherwise, been problem free and I love it.

My wifes RAV 4 has the push button start. You really get used to it after a while. When I got my tacoma I kept looking for the button. It is very nice not to have to fish my keys out of my pocket to start her car.

I would love a similar setup on the tacoma, but I am not liking the price

i agree. i traded in my G37s on my Tacoma. i get in it every day and try to push a button to start it, then remember to get the key out of my pocket. i also built a push button start from components i have in my workshop for one of my other cars. i love it and have been looking at doing the same for my new Tacoma. its just a convience thing to never have to think about a key.

For me the push button isn't important w/o the proximity sensor part. I want to be able to walk up, unlock my truck and start it and drive away w/o ever having to stop and dig around in my pocket for my key. Once you've owned vehicles that allow you to do this you realize how much of an inconvenience traditional keys and remote unlock transmitters are. Sure, they were a step forward from having to manually lock and unlock your doors with the keys but that's been a few decades now so this is just the next generation of convenience.

Unless you have a 5-lug RC Base.

No power to the doors except the speakers.

I have a power lock kit, haven't had time to install it.
