...If all goes well. Ive been eyeing a new truck for a while now, and with a new job its time to build some credit. I went to a few dealers knowing I want a '13 Tacoma V6 TRD Off Road auto. Im a fan of pyrite mica but no one had them. Quotes from the dealerships were between 32,500 and 34,000 out the door. (Thats ridiculously high IMO)

My fishing buddy flew for one of the owners of a dealership here in the valley and I asked him to see if he could help me. Next day I got a call from the owner and he said he'd 'hook' me up. Put me in contact with the GM and I told him what I wanted. Next day he called and said he had a pyrite mica just how I wanted. (When an other dealer said there werent any in the south west region)?? Well the truck came in today and Im going to go check it out tomorrow morning.

What should should be my top price for the truck not including TTL?? ive looked through the 2013 thread and its hard to get a real picyure

Sorry for the rant, but I guess im scared, nervous, excited, thrilled for this financial commentment.

Like you said, it's pretty exciting, isn't it! :D

Price varies all over the country so I don't have any advice about that other than to check out www.truecar.com

I found that site AFTER I bought mine and I probably paid at least $500 more than I should have, but I'm still happy.

    Enjoy your new truck!

I'm actually going to the dealership tomorrow morning to buy the same spec Tacoma where I live. I took at look at the truecar site just now as well and noticed to change the options and packages, you have to click the big orange "next" button.

It will then ask for your email. Then above the MSRP on the right it says something like "options/packages" or something, just click that and a popup will let you select your desired specs.

Had the Pyrite for about 2 years now and still like it. Always had white trucks and wanted something different. Can't help you with price on a new one, but that is only half the battle. Do some searching on TW about purchases. Don't pay full price for an extended warranty. Don't get sold on paint treatments or fabric guards. Know how you want to finance it (toyota financing or your own bank) both have advantages and disadvantages. Be wary of add-ons and extra costs. The little stuff can add up to a lot of money quick.

Good luck and welcome from Tempe. :) I remember when i bought my first truck.. was my second Taco.. the 06. (on my third now) definitely nerve racking, but well worth it when you drive it off the lot, you have a great feeling of pride and accomplishment.

Well... Im now one of you!

Went to the dealer, there she was on the showroom floor! Took it for a test drive, then talked numbers. Originally they were at 30,900 invoice and were going to sell it to me for that. Busted out the college degrees and got $1000 off. I was pretty happy with that. Out the door for 32,300! Could I have done better? maybe. But I truck that I love the look of and is going to last me a long time!

I need to do some research on extended warranty stuff if it is worth it and what to get.

I have one question about the tow package... that ive yet to look up. It doesnt have a tow button? Is that integrated in to the system now?

Im excited to finally be able to post pictures on thread and polls here now!

    Today is a good day

Go to true car.com they can't argue that, if a dealer can't find what you want walk away and find another one who can. these dealers lie like cheap rugs.
