Forget the out the door pricing. Negotiate the truck. The taxs and tags are not variable.

I see what ya mean but since theyre fixed, but wouldnt that mean any out the door adjustment would be towards the price of the truck?

Yea i guess but every state is different so the only way to compare to others is the actual price of the truck. To each his own I guess.

Factory invoice for that truck (I threw in carpet floor mats and a towing package as that is pretty common on those) is $32,923.

I would go in asking for $31,500++.

The MSRP for this configuration should be $34,880,,,Correct? If so, I got multiple offers for $31,900 from dealers in Denver and Arizona. I ended up getting a 4x4 TRD DCSB OR from Denver.

Sounds like $31,500 is definitely doable.

It's the end of the year so most dealers are trying to slam the cars through the doors. My dealership was having the slowest month all year so I got a smokin' deal.

If you have a trade then you're set. Beat them up on the price of the new car and then throw the trade at them and don't take less than NADA. If they offer you less, go to a local Carmax, get the estimate (has always been higher than blue book for me given how overpriced they are in general) and go back to them with the offer. If they don't bite, sell it to Carmax and use the cash on the new truck.

I highly recommend you use www.truecar.com or Overstock.com. Overstock has a larger following of dealerships but they both use the same Zag pricing engine.

Shoot for NADA - it's always been within $500 for me. Carmax is a great place to go first anyway as it gives you power. You can tell the dealership with absolute certainty that Carmax will purchase your existing car/truck for X amount, no questions asked.

    Good luck!

Well regardless of what ou think is false, I know what I paid. Dealer will sell at less than invoice because of the money they receive back at the end of of month for hitting their incentives. If they have to give away half of their holdback ($400) in order to hit a $500/vehicle incentive, don't you think they would do it? They'd be idiots not to.

You are correct about the domestics with a ton of rebates but toyota does the same thing with the Tundra. The tacoma is a rare bird and has ALWAYS had ridiculous resale value for a variety of reason, one of which is the lack of rebates.

I do know that I got a $500 rebate on my 2013 tacoma over a month ago.

    $25170
    less $500 rebate
plus $598.90 "special benefit package" some bull*hit dealer fee
plus $99.95 "delivery and document fee" another bull*hit dealer fee
Means out the door at $25,368.85 plus tax and license.

    Sticker said $26880.

Go on Overstock.com and go to the "Cars" tab. That seems high but I've never researched the Access Cabs before.

Maybe, but they don't have the SR5 package listed which is $1720. So you have to account for that somewhere. Overstock comes in at $23,575, without it so, ad $1720 and you are at $25,295

I don't doubt that I didn't get bottom dollar, I didn't push that hard It was their internet price and I did get them down a bit. But the guy was pretty adamant that they couldn't realistically go down much from there and did I want to not do business with them over $200 to $300 dollars that I was pushing on. In the end I had to agree. That is the place that my wife got her last two cars, they are pretty good dealership.

I don't know also if the overstock prices include the bullsh*t dealer fees but I would guess not.

And I needed a vehicle pronto.

Also I got a christmas tree!!!!

I am kind of new to this forum, but figured what the hell. I am getting a 2013 double cab short box TRD off-road, 4x4, 6 speed Tacoma. I will get it on monday and can't wait. It was $30,287 (with all the fees included) Pretty excited to own my first Tacoma especially after owning a 09 crew silverado that averaged 11mpg.

Thanks a lot, they are giving me $26,000 for my trade in as well! Couldn't be happier...everything I have heard about Tacomas has been great. I hope the mpgs are as good as "they" say.

i doubt you'll be disappointed, it seems like mpg varies a lot (I guess based on location, gas blend, driving style), plenty of us get decent mpg, and others get terrible numbers
