    I think most of I-15/I-84 (or is it 86, can't remember which is which) though Idaho should be great, supposed to rain, but not cold enough to freeze the rain. May be some snow on the Malad Pass (pretty much the only high point from Utah to Boise if you take I-15) but I think you might miss it.

    You are going to Mtn. Home right? What way are you taking to get there exactly? will you be going through Utah at all of going from WY straight to ID?

    You don't consider yours a high clearance bumper?

    I am wondering if there is some spec that says what is and isn't HC it the great TW book of specs. It would be right next to the entry that defines what is and isn't mid travel.

    No, going from Wichita to Salem. We SHOULD be making it to Boise the first night. If not there, then we will just stop in Twin Falls instead. Going up to McCall to eat at Geoff's place then to Salem.

    Got ya. Are you taking I-86 across to Twin? I guess more specifically I should ask where are you entering ID at. haha

    We are talking about HC in, you cut you bedsides shorter to obtain even more clearance (in theory at least) over what you and Monte have.

    Nope, 84 from Ogden through the border to Twin Falls. I've driven it in the summer 3 times. First during the winter. Otherwise we would pit stop in Poc and check out the off road shop up there.

    I don't. Nothing has changed to gain much clearance. Just losing the receiver gains use like 3" and slimmer profile.

    And mid travel is extended coil overs with uniballs UCAs lol

    Got ya. I don't know that strip very well... I live in Poky so I take 86 and CBI is about an hour north of Poky in Idaho Falls.

    Driving is cheaper than flying and renting... But, we need to find a hotel that takes dogs in Twin falls. I usually just sleep in the truck/car on the drive since it is usually warmer out. Not this time though.

    Based on this discussion, it sounds like the great book of TW specs needs another entry. Mid-clearance rear bumpers. :rolleyes:

    The term high clearance when used to define the rear of the truck does not mean you must hack up the sides of your truck to attain it. It only means you increase your departure angle. Further, it does not define how much you increase that departure angle, only that you do.

    Yep. I drove from Poky to Portland for Thanksgiving, much cheaper than flying, although my car also got almost 40 mph for half the trip. haha

    I have no idea on hotels man... sorry...

    Well I think it is starting to stem from 2nd gens. There are 2 kinds of rear bumpers,

    Standard clearance:

    and most fabbers make both kinds for the 2nd gens and classify them like this.

    Nah. Clearance isn't an issue for us as they are up outa the way enough. Plus I don care that much. 3/16th and 1/4" plate are covering my ass :D

    Only way to decrease departure angle for us is bobbed bed.
