Just bouught a showroom creampuff of a 2000 XC Prennner with a 2.7/AT and 42k miles from Florida and brought it to VT to put to work. Saw it's first snow in Bflo, first salt on the ride back to VT, and first snow tires a week ago. It's formerly spanking clean underside gets the hot oil on Tuesday, and later this month it will get it's first 1100 lb stone hauling roadtrip.
It's my first Prerunner after 28 yrs with an '84,'88, and '98 2WD Toyo. Already miss my 5spd and the mileage of my 2.4, but looking forward to finding out about the capabilities of the beefier suspension.

That's my assumption from the 5" higher clearance, additional leaf and several parts I don't recognize, and can't yet name, from my prior '98 2WD truck. I know the rated capacity is the same, and the ride doesn't seem any harsher on rough pavement, but I haven't had it up the woods yet.

Ah, so it has modified suspension, not stock? I couldn't tell from your profile.

Just wondering because the stock suspension is notoriously weak and it sounds like you plan on heavy loads.

As far as I know it's stock for Prerunner, but with a hitch receiver, so I'm guessing a towing package. I haven't had a chance to really check the specs, but from underneath it looks un-modified.
