I really want to do hole in the rock, hells revenge, and the trifecta. Other than that, I'll run what others run.

Better get to work on an HC rear then. The limo is going to need it. :D

I really want to do the front bumper first, but I may have to do the back first to keep from ripping it off.

Come on money tree... Grow Faster!

We actually had an argument about this in some other threads and I think for 2nd gen rear bumper is the way to go first. I hit my damn hitch receiver all the time and have destroyed my rear bumper. I hardly ever hit my bull bar and have never actually hit the front bumper. The only times I have really hit the bull bar have been on rocks that were just too tall and were drug all the way down rig. Plus i haven't had an obstacle that I didn't go on because I was worried about hitting the front (except something like ledge so tall that it wouldn't matter if you had a plate bumper or not), but I have bypassed several obstacles because I haven't wanted to damage the rear when I would have to drag it through the obstacle.

Plus the front bumper is just plastic and flexes back, while the rear bumper is metal and stays bent...

Agree with this. 2nd gens it's much more important to get a HC rear first

Part of my reasoning as well is that my rear bumper is in good condition at the moment and could be resold to someone with and off road that wants a color matched rear. The front is already hacked for tires. Just a thought to recoup costs.

And yes, last year in Moab I dragged the hitch on several ledges and never touched the front on anything.

If you can live without a rear bumper for a bit, rip that thing off and see what you can get for it and move it before you do do something to it like I did. Yours has way!! more resale value than my chrome one though. People are always looking for colormatched stuff in the For Sale section.
We need to talk haha. I know very little about 1st gens:cool:

Leaving it on for now. Snow season is here and I may be able to have an insurance company pay for a new bumper.

That is if it ever snows this year...

Like if someone rear-ends you? or are you talking about it getting rust or chip damage?

I want to come in on the need for a second been rear bumper, I have yet to cause any damage on the rear bumper wheeling ;) and I watch the short wheelbase do it all the time

I think on a second been DCLB it's not as necessary as we for the most part have already cleared that portion and have more vehicle ahead

Trust me it's on my to do list but heck my factory trailer plug is still holding strong
