Knew a couple people that either came from BM "A" or went to Sta Lake Worth from BM "A" school. Can't frickin remember who the hell it was though.

I wish I woulda used the TA while I was in...I had a lot of down time on Kodiak.

I second that. If you're on shore duty and not taking collage classes, you're wasting your liberty time. I should have been smart enough to follow my own advise.

I'm not a swimmer-but I fly them to the excitement.
I might be able to help or at least bounce your questions off a swimmer for ya.

Mixed bag-But most tend to pretty motivated in whatever they do.
They go thru boot camp and then spend a while (a year +) waiting/training in the "airman program" before school.

And one more important thought was how much time are you away from family? I've heard awhile to an everyday not really specific. Thanks

Duty days are normally 24 hours for aircrews. Non-Duty days are a "normal" workday...8-4 or so.
Deployments can last a couple weeks to a few months...but swimmers do not always go on deployment.
There are swimmers assigned to fixed wing units and they may deploy...I don't know- but those are usually a couple weeks to a month.

Heard this morning. Sad to see something like this. RIP.
