got a pretty good week in- 30 miles, today I was going to do a 20 mile long run, but mother nature had other plans :) we got a dump of ~ 10" of snow and the temps dropped out- high of 14 today w/ the windchill is around 0

the snow drifted around a fair bit and in places there was 1 foot + of snow- that makes for tough running! :D

sure beats sitting on the couch though

I did some mountain running last week 7 miles 64 min. at 4000 foot in 25 degree weather. I know I have work to do but coming from sea level Im pretty happy with that.

I was covered in frost when I got back to camp.

fun to run in the mountains :)

the last couple of day shave been really nice- highs in the upper 30's, sunshine and the biggie no wind! I ran 13 miles yesterday- started off w/ a long sleeve merino base top, tights, windshirt, beanie and gloves- within 10 minutes the gloves came off and the winshirt was opened up, 10 minutes more and the windshirt came off, 10 more minutes and the beanie came off- fun running in the snow in just my shirt sleeves :D

ditto the same weather for today, got in 6.5 miles and ended the run in my shirt sleeves

pretty good week- 37 miles (13,6,6,12)

weather has been fantastic- highs in the upper 30's-lower 40's, snow is going fast (but it's being replaced by mud!)

    Route 66 Half.

The good, pr'ed by 9 minutes, and was still fresh to walk home after the race. Also averaged 8:10's for almost 11 miles. New stride was a SUCCESS!

    The bad...

I was stood up by Sarah, the night before, so I was mad as hell. My neighbor from upstairs decided to start "tap dancing" @ 2:45 am, til 5 am!

While I was awake, I had several "runs" to the bathroom... [IMG] [IMG]

And during the race on mile 4 , my left sciatica decided it needed a break, which I HAD to comply to.

So even though I had a torrid start, I got my sub two hour!!! 1:57:21!!!:bananadance::burnrubber:

    Just found this thread

I am a runner myself, long distance type. Mostly on my own time I run but I've completed two half's. Next is a full! Working on getting my 13.1 times to around 1:30 before I go for the 26.2.

My PR is 1:45 on my last official half in OBX, NC two weeks ago.

Figured I'd also post this...selling my Garmin Forerunner 410 GPS watch w/ Heart rate monitor.

There's nothing like getting up at 4:00 am to run 19 glorious miles to get the blood flowing. We ran a good portion of the Houston marathon path today.

Never while running, always after a long run or after any race. They are listed as an after running item, and that's how I use them.

I run w/ tights in the winter, probably not technically compression tights, but they have a lot of lycra in them and definitely provide at least some compression

I do have calf compression sleeves that I've worn running before, but now use them after running hills

got a lot of good exercise over the Thanksgiving holiday- got a 11 mile run in Thanksgiving morning, 12 miles of x-country skiing in on Friday, 8 mile run on Saturday and another 11 run on Sunday- no guilt eating for me! :D

Hmmmm, the ones I was looking at were to be worn running. I guess to reduce fatigue from muscles giggling or something...I dont know?

I do run in tights and was just wondering. Im up to 20 miles a week with 8.5 miles being the longest and i feel great.

    finished up a good week- 44 miles, Tues-12, Wed-6, Sat-20, Sun-6

I hadn't run a 20 in over a month, so it was time- I had kind of forgotten about the pain cave, but found it yesterday for the last four-ish miles

I recovered better than I thought I would (based on how I felt)- got a good 10 hour sleep last night and hit the roller this morning. My run this evening (albeit a easy run) felt pretty good :)

I completed my first ultra yesterday. I was out at Huntsville SP for the Texas Trails 50k. It was far from pretty, and there were several dark spots for me, but I pushed through and finished it in 7:45.

I stuck around to watch the 50milers come in. I don't think I'm crazy enough to do that though.

Here's to a good week of running for everyone.
