I don't remember hardly anything that happened before I was like 5. I would take my chances not murdering my kid.

So you are dead, your wife is being raped and beaten, your kid is watching it happen.

What happens to the kid if they have beaten and raped your wife to death? The kid is just supposed to put his bigboy pants on and pick up your gun?

No, I have no delusion of being invincible. Winning doesn't make you a man, You are advocating removing any chance of life from your family and taking away their choice by snuffing them out and it's not only anti male in any aspect of the animal kingdom but its a cowards way out.

I don't see things from the eyes of a 4 year old because I'm an adult, we make hard choices, we do everything in our power to protect, check out and take our family with us.

For the record, I'm not name calling, I'm discussing cowardly acts, I believe you have name called others previously though and that's unacceptable.

Your last statement isn't worth commenting on.

I won't have a gun. Don't own one, probably won't ever buy one. This warfare will never happen. I'm not worried about it.

I am prepped in the sense that there's tools in my truck cab, and various stuff in the bed. But I do not have anything in the sense of surviability (food/water). Food would perish in summer heat and water would be contaminated by leeching plastic.

Wow. Where would we be as a species if our fight or flight response was instead reduced to suicide at the first sign of trouble. Sad.

Prime example is the nfl dude that committed murder suicide because he was fighting with his girl. I guess there wasn't a better alternative?

    No I have not.

I've aready been asked not to engage in any pissing contests over this.

If society has failed and the world has become total anarchy, I truly think a family has almost no chance of a decent life. If you say it's a "cowards" way out. Then we disagree.

While it isn't my answer/plan - I think there are several levels of catastrophe being talked about here. I was on the natural/manmade local to national scale. I think garage suicide guy was on global altering cataclysm level....and try as we might-Forecasting what we would or wouldn't do in a post apocalyptic world is a bit far fetched. Just like calling it "first sign of trouble" is an understatement.

In a post apocalyptic world in a nuclear winter, suicide seems to be a feasible alternative to suffering from radiation sickness.

As for a massive Chinese or Russian invasion, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

So your saying gathering the family up in the garage with the car running is a viable solution given the alternative which is making an attempt at survival because it might be difficult.

    Still Sad.

Point being you don't throw in the towel until throwing in the towel is inevitable. I'm sure many holocaust/POW survivors would agree that it's always darkest before the dawn.

I dont live in Texas and have 15 guns, my brother lives 50 miles from me and he has another 13.
My cousins, all told there are roughly 130 guns amongst all of us. Add in grandpa, well over 200.
Just sayin, Texas doesnt have all the gun rights.

Dying from radiation really doesn't sound like my cup of tea, I am sorry if you think that to be said. Nonetheless I never said my first instinct would be to fumigate myself. Hopefully I will never have to make the decision as I do not plan to. Rather live a normal life.

If you are asking me: I'm not saying it's my first choice...but there are some real possibilities where dying on my terms with my family vice the ravages of a toxin or sickness would be pretty legit. It would not be an instant reaction to adversity, but an option that I would leave on the table.
