do you guys wax the colour keyed plastic on your trucks as well? just not sure if I should wax the plastic while I'm doing it.

I do. I wax everything that is the color of my truck (silver streak mica). I even go over the silver emblems, but its sometimes a pain to buff the wax out from the corners of the emblems then.

Edit: You're talking about pieces like the grill surround, front bumper (assuming its plastic, dont know for sure), etc, right?

 

I wax anything color matched.

 

I wax all painted surfaces.
recently started using Mothers back to black for the plastic and rubber, works good.

 

As long as your wax is safe to use on all surfaces, you should wax everything. Paint, plastic, chrome, aluminum, rubber/plastic trim, wheels (usually chrome or clearcoated aluminum) etc.

The only things I don't wax on my truck's exterior are my tires and my front windshield.

I wax everything and turtle wax ice does not leave a white residue on the black plastic parts IE the door latches etc

 

+1. Pretty good stuff. Easy on and off so I tend to wax more often. And, it works better than ArmorAll on exterior plastic parts and panels.

Ice , by turtle wax .wax on everything Wax windows and palstic and the whole truck with no resedue at all.I use all the ice products .

ok, just bought the meguire's clay bar kit, cause my truck feels like sand paper even after waxing, now this kit came with a small bottle of cleaner wax, what is the difference between the cleaner wax and the meguire's gold class liquid wax that I have? should I use the meguire's gold class wax or the meguire's cleaner wax after clay baring?

 

just finished clay baring and waxing, all I can say is WOW!! What a difference the clay bar makes, its so smooth now! unbelievable!! anyone who has not clay barred, go do it its amazing!!!

 

How long did it take to wash, clay the truck and wax it?

 

took about 3 hrs total from start to finish, but well worth it
