its hard to explain. When working with steel you can actually see colors, so red hot actually looks red and so on.

I would Agree with Steve o on that one! The gold lenses are rad. Also if your into auto dark and you can find the Autos that shift blue instead of green, I find those leave my eyes feeling better at the end of a day of welding, but they tend to be harder to find now adays and I cannot for the life of me understand why.

    Cool. Thanks!

One thing about auto darkening that I should mention is to be sure and turn it on before you start welding OR you're gonna get flashed

I'm going to be fabricating my rear lt (2005 Taco) in the next few weeks..

I've got a 50t leaf pack, TC spring plates..and thats about it..

Just need confirmations of dimensions on the following:

    1. Spring perch width
    2. U-bolt dimensions
    3. Bushed DOM sleeve width

    Thanks in advance.

    ...too much shit to list.
    1) Same as spring pack, 2.5"
    2) I'd recommend 5/8" thick. You need bolts that fit a 3" axle tube. IIRC you need 9" long and just cut off the excess. I like these because they are coated and don't rust (the bolts will tho so spray those after you are done): http://www.polyperformance.com/shop...le-HD-E-Coated-5-8-18-UNF-U-Bolt-p-29874.html
    3) 3". Spring pack + bushing ends. 2.5+0.25+0.25 = 3"

This is a great thread. I have really enjoyed reading the first 20 pages. Definitely going to be doing a lot of the fabrication myself. i have welding experience from working on ships and having to machine and fix parts when something broke.

The plan for my rig is to make it a LT rig, as well as, my main mode of transportation. I agree with linked2002. As a project manager, it is very important to plan your projects to control the cost. As a PM i constantly plan, brain storm and talk with people to make sure I'm taking the right path.

Looking forward to seeing your project, if you plan on building the any suspension yourself I highly recommend reading Carroll Smith's book Engineered To Win. It will help you grasp the complexities of suspension design

Been a few months since I picked up my welder so I decided to play with it a little bit. Not too bad for cold shaky hands

I've got that 60GAL Ingersoll. Nothing but great from mine aside from a pump that went bad, but a simple phone call and a new one was at my door 2 days later free of charge.
The key is their intake filter is way too small so an upgrade is in order. No issues since upgrading the intake filter

I was going to buy a 60GAL Ingersoll. Thats what I was saving for based on the reviews from the guys on the garage and tool forum I'm on. But I ended up with a CH 60gal from Lowes (Same as the 60 gal Husky at Home Depot) because I got it for $350 with tax.

Looking for recommendations for tube benders that don't require a stand. Portability is key. Was looking at Roguefab's, it looked pretty decent.
