The Washoe CountyEmergency Operations Center is calling for the worst of the shit storm on Sunday around 10a. Greg Street and Larkin Circle intersect and Idlewild park to be the surge points but is supposed to recede quickly.

Eric - hope all stays well at the shop. I'd offer to help but I'm bailing out of town for the weekend.

Everyone else - stay safe out there. People in this town suck at driving in the rain!

It's a damn circus up here. I had to drive over to incline at lunch and I ran out of fingers to count the spinnouts. Wet, sloppy, icey, nasty snow. I wouldn't even call it snow. It's more like....unflavored slurpy.

Was at my shop last night doing some flood prep- as much stuff as far off ground as possible, 2 rows of sand bags across all doors and sealed the main roll up door with plastic sheathing as well since the weather seal on it is crap, and also duck taped the doors up to 3ft just in case as a secondary seal.
Crazy windy around 2am in south reno, though was pretty calm at the shop.
Now its just steady rain and a little wind

Just got woken up to flooding (I got home frome work at 5AM). It's just starting to mist but the high winds knocked over the old 5' by 5' window we replaced with a new one (it was leaning against the side of the garage) & it took out the main sprinkler riser supply. water was flowing under the sidewalk and all the way out to the street. while I was typing this Chris looked outside & said the wind had pulled the BBQ off the side of the house and moved it across the patio. Then she yelled OH SHIT IT JUST KNOCKED IT OVER! The water to the house is shut off & in a little bit I get to go out and find out what pipe broke & what I need to do to fix it so I can turn the water back on.

Flood never happened. Storm came in colder than they thought so there was more snow and less rain so less runoff.
Now I've gotta take down all the sand bags and put all my tools where they belong again..

Good to hear. Better safe than sorry. If you wouldn't have done anything you know you would have gotten water in the shop.

Yeah I actually went down and did more waterproofing Saturday night after reading they were closing the area down Sunday morning, as a just in case thing. Better safe than sorry, even if you gotta do it at midnight
