Didn't notice that extra piece of lexan on ty's body. Think he said he was using some proline razorback tires or something.

Diamondbacks, also in a new X compound. The track there is pretty high speed, so they added the vertical piece of clear lexan to help with straight line stability. JConcepts also broke out some new meat as well, Metrix I think they were called.

So this is kind of generic question. But I used to have nitro truck so I have experience in RC but I think that electric has come a long way in the past 5 years or so. What would be a good truck electric probably 1/10 maybe smaller RTR bang for the buck? I don't mind getting a brushed motor than upgrading to brushless. I have a buddy and his brushless is crazy fast.

Just depends on what you're into. Do you want a short course truck you can take the track, do you want a crawler that you can take into the woods and beat the crap out of, etc...

Probably something that I would take off road. Trails and jumps there is a track that is not to far from my house but that would be down the line. Probably not looking for a crawler.

Got some questions for you 1/8 buggy guys.

My dad wants a 1/8 buggy so for christmas me and my mom are gonna split it on one for him, she has ordered a mugen mbx6e kit, I plan on buying the wheels/tires, servo, motor, and esc to complete it.

Thinking im gonna go with a rx8 esc with a tekin 1900kv motor, No clue on a decent servo or wheels and tires. Not looking for the most expensive stuff but dont want something thats junk either.

As far as servos go, you'll need something with plenty of torque (at least 200ozs). Radiopost, Savox or HiTech, a 7955 is a good value. Wheels are pretty much the same, unless you want some type of spoked model. Proline, JConcepts or AKA. Tyres totally depends on his intended use. For just playing around, search EBay "VP Pro 1/8" great tyre/rim combos at a value price.

    Thanks for the feedback

Servos I have down to a hitec 7955 or a savox 1256tg, leaning towards the savox price, may get those moto wheels for him, since I cant run them, he can.

I've stripped out every hitek i've ever owned. I'd avoid them where possible

What radio will be used. Some people have brown out issues with Savox/Spectrum combos, requiring an external BEC. However, a buddy of mine (running a 1258, I think) has had zero issues without a external BEC.

Hmm, just when i thought i had the 1256 locked in.. He will be running it with a spectrum sr3100 rx. I think I will buy the savox and hope for the best, between the wheels/tires, servo and motor/esc im at $465

IF he has any problems, you can add the Castle BEC later, less than twenty bucks. Again, my bud has no issues.
