Alright guys, just finished this thing this evening. Getting it in was like a fight for my life, but I'm happy with the result. AFAIK this has never been done before. I wanted a half rack in my bed that would work with a camper shell on. Now I will have more sleeping space and can toss all my stuff up on this rack while I'm camping. It's not super strong (side mounts into the bedrail bend a little, nothing too bad. I can still probably put 100-150 lbs up there). I'd say for a guy who can count the times he's welded on one hand, it turned out pretty well! Whaddya think?

I'm still planning on getting a piece of trailer mesh to put up top so the stuff doesn't fall through, but for now, it's holding my spare tire in place.

Disassembled a steering wheel I bought at Toy Connection in SJ. I wanted the cruise control mechanism for my new project, took it off and cleaned it up.
