He'll alwas stand up for his players, but it was good to see him do it like that. Angry. You can say they come up short in the big games all ya want, and it's true, but you have to leave that game out of it. Yea, they lost, but it wasn't on Murray. Time management and coaching, possibly, but t wasn't Murray this time. He had the one terrible under thrown pass for the INT, but other that that, he made pretty sound decisions.

Funny the reporter didnt want to say "choke" after he saw he pissed Richt was. Hell he didnt even want to say the question was from him. " Ive been hearing it around". After that game i dont think that question should have even been asked.

Hearing a lot of "Kirby Smart to auburn" talk today.

Would hate to lose him. I know auburn's AD said they wanted to get a "proven head coach with experience," but apparently the only one who would take their calls was Petrino and I guess they aren't willing to stoop that low. I like Kirby, but I don't think he'll do as well at HC as he has at DC. I hope he stays where he is.

I pray the rumors are true! I want Smart on the Plains. I personally think he would be a fantastic choice. Learned a lot under Saban...could do great things at Auburn! I do not want Petrino at all. I'll take Smart of Malzahn and Strong any day!

That reporter was Chuck Oliver,he does a radio sports talk show in Atanta on 680 the fan called Chuck and Chernoff. I listen to them frequently during football season. He's an Auburn man if that matters to anyone. He was all like what the hell was I doing yesterday which is funny because they tend to defend Richt a lot

Do not want to see him go to Auburn. Or anywhere. Thought that about McElwain too.

I was watching the NFL game last night and saw it scroll across the bottom of the screen that Smart had interviewed w/AU but haven't heard much more about it?

Yeah I'd hate to lose him too... not only for the continuity of the staff but because he's an outstanding recruiter that could poach some of our recruits, decifer our offensive/defensive signals, and would know intimately how to scheme against us. Of course all those reasons are perfect reasons to hire him.

All the chatter is its him or Malzahn, but who knows. As long as its not Petrino, I don't want that guy, he's slimy to me. Supposedly there were some tweets last night from a couple of recruits claiming Smart was the man. I don't believe anything any longer until I see it, then I have doubts.

I'd almost be willing to let y'all have Mullen if we could get Smart, but Mullen is still in the process of building the system, so he deserves at least one more year. I just like what Smart does for defenses, something we need improvement on.

Anybody but Kirby would be fine with me... although even I'd hate to see Petrino get the AU job because IMO he's a slime ball and I wouldn't wish him upon anybody.

Selfishly, I hope Smart doesn't go, especially to AU. He certainly deserves a HC job but I was hoping outside of the SEC or at least to the SEC east so we don't have to face him every year... fighting him on the recruiting trail will be tough enough.

I think replacing Chip Kelly way up in Oregon would be the perfect job for him... does Alaska have a team? ;)

What if Saban retires after winning another NC this year? Smart would be the perfect replacement for him. He can hire Les Koening for his OC and take Chris Wilson for his DC.

I'm going to post it here so I can have it on some kind of "record."

    Heard two things.

1 - Kirby Smart was offered the auburn job, thought about it over night, and turned it down today.

2 - TCU's Gary Patterson will be the next auburn coach.

These things came from different people, and together they don't make much sense. Just wanted to get it out there before any news broke IN CASE one is right.

    Love coaching search rumors.

Y'all really do need some help defensively. I was really disappointed in your defense. Ole Miss gave us a tougher time. Now, having said that, Crooms didn't leave you anything offensively. Mullen being an offensive mind it's only natural to see that side of the ball get more focus. I think your O is on the right track but it's time to focus on the D a little more. Is help on it's way? What's your recruiting class look like?

Mullen is going after some JC guys like he did last year. We have one JC safety commited at the moment. We also have a 4 star defensive end giant and a 3 star defensive end as well. He is trying to go after a couple more defensive backs. Of course, from what I understand, most of our backups are more talented than our current starters. I just don't feel like being patient to see them develop. I want to see results soon.

We also need a new d-coordinator. Manny Diaz did well in Starkville, I'd be willing to take him back.

I really don't want to see Patterson in the SEC! Could you imagine what he could do with talent. I heard on the radio this morning he is sitting back and waiting on the Texas job to open up.
