From what I am reading is that now Malzahn has jumped to the front of the line. I heard that Smart was practically a lock but he wanted Dye out of the program so he could have complete control and Auburn wouldn't do it so he told them to shove the job. If that is the case then that's pretty shitty of AU. Dye is way past his time and it's time for him to move on and get his hand out of the pot. May have lost what could have been the best choice for us. Good job Jay Jacobs.

 

Again, like all this, take it for what it's worth. Jay Gogue speaking today, claims "to be announced within 24 hours" as reported by two Montgomery TV stations.

 

We had a solid defense when he was with us. Outside of a few games last year, y'all had a solid defense. We need to get rid of the bozo Chris Wilson we have now.

AR State had to know they were only renting Malzahn for a year. I really expected him to go to Arkansas after John L Smith servered his time there this year.

I'm not super happy about Gus. My question is his real ability cause he saw what was heading Auburns way after 2010 and he jumped ship and I think it's cause he felt he couldn't help us. I'll warm to the idea but he has a lot of proving to do. Time to jump on the Gus bus either way I guess. I still think Smart would have been the obvious and the best choice. Whatever happens I still love Auburn and I'm still all in! WDE!

 

I've got one AU buddy that'll talk football w/o all the "teabagger", "Updyke", & "double wide" bull crap that said Chizik pretty much ran Malzahn off because he didn't like the up-tempo offense as it exposed his defense so he tried to dictate the game plan to Malzahn. Well Malzahn wasn't too happy about that & saw the program unraveling(lack of dicipline) so he exited on his own terms. Similar thing happened between Houston Nutt & Malzahn... Now Malzahn will be running the show so he shouldn't have any problems.
