It's not a $7,000 decrease in value... If you bought a 2013 truck today, waited 9 months and traded it in, you'd see the same $7,000 decrease in value. The dealership valued the truck correctly for being a fairly new trade in. They probably could have taken a little bit of a hit on their end and gotten that number up a little bit but the reality is vehicles lose their value very very quickly. To a dealership, it's a used vehicle.

I do agree that this can not be compared to a defective battery though. That was a little ridiculous.

I read all your posts. Maybe you should do a better job communicating next time :notsure:

Getting pissed at me because you bought a lemon =

So who told you the truck was damaged during transportation and when did they tell you this?

So what's the problem? Your frame is every so slightly twisted, your rear bumper doesn't line up if inspected closely, and the bed appears to be "off" a little?

I'm sure just like a lot of other trucks on this site. I don't see an issue here, unless it's causing drivability issues. Oh, and I am a mechanic.

I actually think they did well by the price. I know dealers suck but how will they sell a used 2012 for anything close to a new 2013

Your best bet is to try to find others with the same issue and get it to class action status. It could be a bad batch of frames not that this has happened to Toyota before(sarcasm intended). Unfortunately, the only thing class action lawsuits do is make lawyers rich. I think you basically have two options: have Toyota repair the frame or trade it in and move on. It's a crappy situation and I understand where you are coming from.

Bingo. But instead of getting it fixed like Toyota is fully capable of doing, a new truck is needed because Toyota working on the truck will devalue it.

My 08' Tacoma hasn't been driven in months and is sitting in my backyard rusting away with a defective blown engine.

Who is pissed? I think OP and you are high maintenance, and expect way too much, but I'm not pissed. What in the hell would I be pissed about? It's OP that's got the 1/2" problem (HEHE). I'd take my truck over a new one any day by the way.

100% agree here. Obviously you guys think buying new things automatically means no issues ever. For a truck having so many components, Toyota does pretty damn well supplying a decent amount of satisfactory vehicles. Sometimes you get one that needs some work right away. If they did the work before you buy the truck, you still get the same outcome as if they do it after you buy it. A straightened frame would be the least of my worries about devaluing my truck. A scratch will probably affect it more.
