I'm sure this is covered in many previous post but having a hard time finding a definitive answer via the search engine.

Can someone tell me the location of a relatively accessible point of the dash light wiring circuitry (in cab) to be able to use a wire tap for my OTRATTW Contura lighted switch? In other words how and where can I access this wiring?

Can I run two separate wire taps: 1 for 12V and 1 for my ground from this location or am I forced to run down to a chassis ground? (This is strictly for the "lighted" part of the switch which will emulate the natural dash lighting when in use, not the separate led's which will be controlled by the switch)

Tks for any info and/or pics if anyone has any. ;)

    Solved! Tks TW

I didn't watch the video, but I tapped in to the A/C controls lighting circuit. The board holding the three dials popped off easily, and I used a multimeter to determine which wires were 12V and ground for the illumination circuit. Really any solid ground should work. IIRC, the 12V for illumination is switched, not the ground.

Guys, thanks a lot for the great feedback. I spent the day working out the wiring and it turns out one of my blanks had the necessary circuit I needed. ;)

Rick, I had that video bookmarked not long after I originally posted. It was a great reference for wiring. Fortunately I won't need to do that much work now. ;)
