The good news: I successfully dragged a 500 lb stump off my property. The bad: I backed up too far and hit it, completely destroying the waterproof cover for my trailer harness. The flange attached to the truck I could fix, but the little door with gasket just exploded. It seems to have been an integral part of the end of the trailer harness....sort of a plastic adapter about 6 inches long at the end of the harness.....does anyone know if I can buy this plastic part or do I have to replace the entire harness....oh my. Me 1, Stump 2.

Those things are meant to be destroyed. Otherwise, Toyota would have put them someplace less stupid.

Buy a $10 replacement at the auto parts store and pop a 2" hole in the bumper with a hole saw next to the license plate. This should be everyone's first mod

Yes, I did think of that. I may just keep it wrapped and zip tied behind the bumper. I rarely use it...,.

I'm on phone so can't reference threads but use the search function and look for "trailer harness relocate" that should get you going in the right direction

I did exactly what was mentioned above after I snapped mine off. I popped a hole in the bumper and used a universal harness from autozone.

Wrecked mine the first time i wheeled my truck so I bought a new plug and reinstalled it where one of the license plate lights was.

this! did the same thing to mine over a year ago. There is still plenty of light from the license plate light on the right side to view the plate at night.
