Thanks. It's always helpful to have them side by side.
    Your truck looks great.
Yours is a sport. Is the other a offroad?

I don't have pics, but my Taco is stock height and it is about the same height as my bf's stock Chevy Z71. His friend brought over a stock Chevy Duramax 2500 and mine was about the same height also. My bf also has a Chevy Duramax 2500 on 33" tires with the torsion bars cranked up and it only looks about 2-3" taller than mine.

Get the Taco and put a 3" lift and some nice tires on it and you will love it. I see lifted Taco's in parking lots and they always look nice next to full sized trucks. My bf who isn't a Taco fanatic like me even thought a lifted Taco was a Tundra, because it looked "big" I laughed at him and showed him it was the same as mine.

    Welcome to TW :D

Oh yeah...don't know what make/model truck you are comparing to, but if price isn't an issue and you are looking for the most luxurious/most options, go with the TRD Sport (the ones with the hood scoop).

Thanks for the info. That really makes me feel better about the tacos. Price is somewhat of an issue because this truck is going to be a graduation present from my parents, but it will have to be used so I'm really going to be looking for quality and care over price, and hopefully I can still find the package I want. And they will just be buying the truck how it is. I have the money to put all the mods that i want on it. I was already pretty sure that I would be looking for a sport. I really like the looks.

I guess I assumed you lifting your truck ment you did so for added wheel well clearance so you would have the ability to run larger tires. If your running a lift with stock tires then: YES your truck will tow just fine. You really should denote the fact that your running stock tires when you go telling folks your truck tows fine with a lift kit. Most will assume your lifted to fit larger tires which isn't your case.

Ok. Before I tell someone I'm lifted, I will make sure I tell them I have stock tires. I'll only do that if before you state your opinion, you tell the person your an ass hat first.

When I part next to full size trucks, my truck sits about even with theirs. The only thing that ever makes a full size look taller than mine stock is the factory rake, otherwise my hood sits alot higher than a full size, tailgate not as much.

    Lifesaflaw123,
How do you like your lift overall? Any disappointments with it? Also, do you think 285/75r16's would give you any major rubbing problems?
I really like the looks of your truck. Some 33's would look plain awesome!

I like the way it rides. Much better than stock. At first i was pissed about how stiff and shitty it rode, but then it broke in a bit. Just yesterday i drove my dads stock tacoma and was like "wow, i didn't realize that the lift made the truck drive more comfortably". I haven't put any wheels and tires on yet so no idea about rubbin. I know you can get away with 285/70/17's sometimes not rubbing, but i'm sure you would have to trim a bit to fit 285/75/16's. I'll have to let someone with experience chime in on this one.

    Thanks Lifesaflaw123,
It looks like from your pics that you kept the rake (if that's the right term for this use) pretty similar to original? I like trucks to be a little higher in the rear than the front.

    Tigerfan,
Do you know any details about the trucks in the pic? Is that f150 on the right pretty much stock? BTW, great picture. Helps a lot.
