Ya I think they went away in 09 or 10. I will eventually mount some but I am not a fan of the speaker grill showing. I will look into junkyards to see if the older rear panels match and swap them out

I wonder if you could use the doors that we have to get door speakers.

I think from what I have seen the door is the same the interior panel just doesn't have the built in speaker grill. I can cut my panel and use the included speaker grill but I dont like that look

The door speakers are attached to the door, there is a metal frame for them. It may not be as easy as replacing the trim panel. It is def something ot look into if you want door speakers though.

Weird stuff is one thing but to out and out lie to me is crap..then the GM corporate office acknowledges and agrees that the dealer was not honest with me, but said that they still support him fully. I asked the person if they heard of the Tacoma buyback and then explained to them what happened with my wife's 96 with 160K. I then asked what they think is more common, that or a 5 yr old truck under 80k that's a daily driver only needing half an engine.

Fuck I'm overdue for my blinker fluid flush! Damn Toyota's terrible service standards! Good thing I have the magnaflow, so my exhaust bearings should be good for another 50k at least

Side note; why does "exhaust bearing" sound so legitimate? I can totally see a bunch of dumb people paying for that! Hahaha

I was a die hard GM guy untill my 98 Blazer, that thing was in the shop every 3 months without fail, before that i had an 88 GMC S15 that never needed anything done to it.
I had an 05 Tacoma that i never had an issue with and my 09 has been really good too, anything i had to do to this truck was from me beating on it in the woods.
I had the tsb on the rear leafs and i had the radio issue, i had them change out the radio and upgraded to a Pioneer system right after that.
It rattles and makes noises but it is what it is,doesn't bother me and they call me the cranky old guy!
    And yes Dave i'm 49! Holy Shit!

I had 7 GM vehicles. 2 Chevys, 1 Cadillac, and 4 Pontiacs. The Pontiacs were great, the other 3 were junk.

Mind you the average age prior to the 97 Achieva was 8-10 years old, and even the Achieva was 5. The Calais was kind of a piece but paying $500 for a car you can't expect much of anything.

All my cars were that way. Old and cheap was the only way I could buy one. I did the work myself in the driveway. I did a 4 speed top load trans on my MustangII (1st car). I traded for a Gremlin then sold it, traded for a Tradesman van (I think that was the name) by Dodge. I had mostly bikes when I was younger
