Any 4x4 LT guys ever bend a front differential bracket? - I've seen them busted before but I may have bent mine. Anyone local have good one that I may be able to compare to?

After a very healthy romp in the desert, I blew a shock. I mean destroyed a front shock. Since then I dislocate CVs - I knew something was up when after replacing one, it looked like this:

    IMAG2192_f2abb00a36721c8e3e96a5f052fdc4e55c5c5aa3.jpg

I checked the LCA - thinking that my TC lowers may have been manufactured on the long side, I installed the OEM one. Not the case. Same condition (note the position of the eccentrics on the LCAs in an attempt to lessen the condition.

    2012-12-06_3bd991b850abe6ad93a7b8e3b9886d810014884d.jpg

I can measure the ends of the diff and the diff is off about 3/4". Even if I moved it over about 3/8" (so it was centered) it still wouldn't make up for the roughly 3/4" required to get the tripod back in the cup. Lowering the diff and moving it over may do the trick.

I may have found a perfect use for one of those drop bracket spacers on a 2nd gen truck! lol

    TIA

alot of metal, small engine, decent travel.
caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
but if something is bent the axle can slide out of the housing then bind and rip the boot.

and question, i pulled my front diff. can i reassemble my truck and still drive for right now? i have manual locking hubs. will anything get messed up by running with no axles but with hubs and 4wd axles still?

measure from wheel but to Front diff on both sides, see which side is shorter. it should be almost the exact same distance.

Yes, but you need the outer CV cups installed in the spindle and the axle nut tight as if you had axles in. If you don't, you'll risk cooking your wheel bearings and brakes.
