New question. With the tsb leaves and the progressive AAL will the regular bilstien 5100,s work? Or will I need to order the longer ones?

I've got TSB leafs, overload included, the 1.5" progressive AAL and standard length 5100's. If you really like to flex out your truck, you might want to consider longer shocks and possibly extended bumps but I haven't had a problem with mine yet.

Thanks! Do you flex your truck out much? Or wheel it hard? I just want to make the right decision and buy parts one time!

Nope, not really. I took it off road last month and got it flexed out pretty well but overall, my truck is a bit of a street queen

The shocks will just limit your downtravel but you'll still have a lot of droop. If you flex way out frequently, you might end up constantly topping out the shock and damaging the shock but it'd take a while.

Haha. Thanks for the info. Ill look into what it will take to extend the bump stops an go from there.

Check out Wheeler's Superbumps. I believe they are one of the more cost effective bump stops out there.

Those look good. Any idea how much they are extended if at all?

Front and rear are stock heights. You can purchase the rear with towers that will extend them, but I found this to be useless.

Unless your running huge tires or the wrong sized shocks why would you want to extend the bump stops?

Ive read that with the 1.5" AAL you may need theology get shocks. Also with the longer shocks the bump stops may need extended so as not to bottom out the shock. This is all a part of the research.

With a 1.5" AAL you're not going to need extended length shocks or new bump stops.

I'm assuming you meant "need to get the longer shocks" and not theology ha

I would say you don't need new shocks with that AAL however, if you elect to gain downtravel and get the absolute most amount of flex that you can, you can go with an extended shock which means you'd need new bump stops. The 1.5 - 2" of gained lift kind of puts you in no mans land for shock selection. The standard 5100's say they're good for 0-1" of lift and the longer versions are good for around 3" of lift.

When doing a set up the best idea IMO is to always mock up the set up and buy the correct shock/bump stops for your travel after the leaves and tires are installed.

If I were you I would put on the leafs, disconnect the shocks, flex it out, measure, and order the correct length shocks. Then if needed adjust the bump stops accordingly.

I can personally vouch that stock 5100's impede the droop of a TSB leaf pack with a 3 leaf aal.

That's why I was thinking about the longer shocks to gain the down travel.
