Also- you used to have a Subi, right? I'd love your input on the one Jill and I are thinking about.

I am not sure on details, but it seems likely. Probabaly a lot of variables like retention time and flow rates and decomp time, plus local precip patterns. Tidal gives you a daily cyclical flush with a vast dispersion, whereas paddies would have much less of that benefit. I think it would have to be very light loads that would only work with rural population densities.

I agree, your and his comments are fine, I don't agree with the post that began this little debate. I have an Irish Catholic heritage and my son is part Mexican, two groups that have historically on the mean end of some pretty nasty bashing. I tend to be a little sensitive about these kinds of things.
    Carry on:)

Yours was good advice - so far everybody has pretty much told me to go for it. I did notice in Keef's build thread (79 pages worth ) that he used to own one.

don't talk to Keith about the Subie....he'll just end up laying on the floor in a fetal position, crying because he misses it too much still.

I used to have a Subie too, not sure if you knew that. Good car, reliable, good gas mileage and very capable in the winter weather. Sold it @ 120K and it was still running like it was new. The only things I ever had to have fixed on it were an O2 sensor, leaky gasket in the hatchback (found 3 gallons of water in my spare tire well after a particularly bad rain storm in AK), thermostat and timing belt/water pump at 109K. Also had to have the tranny flushed to cure a problem that had my mechanic scratching his head...when I did slow, sharp turns (say in a parking lot) the wheels would chatter. Reminded me of when you take a loaded shopping cart and try to push it sideways around a corner and the wheels lock up and chatter across the floor. My mechanic tore the entire rear end apart as I was convinced the AWD was going out but it all looked good. After several calls to other Subie mechanics they advised that he just flush the tranny. It worked, problem solved! And hte mechanic felt bad about not knowing what was wrong in the first place so I didn't get charged for him having to tear my car apart...he just charged me for the tranny flush.:)

Correct. I have not said anything disrespectful. I actually found the Vietnamese to be a friendly family and community values country.

For the most part of the year I spent there I was stationed in Danang on the coast of the South China Sea.

Colera was the worst. It is a 2 shot series 30 days apart. I had to go into Walter Reed, in DC, for the second shot while I was home on leave before going to Vietnam.
