All you need is a three way toggle switch to the parking brake wire on the head unit.

when i got my double din installed they said it was going to cost about $200 because they had to intall a new airbag computer? or something like that as well. Did anybody a=else have this happen to them. Never heard of this happening so just wondering.

It actually pulses current twice which is why a ground won't work. If it was just once it'd be fine. I THINK is how I remember it being explained to me.

Where did you get your new head unit from? You will have to report back on how you like it. I am still trying to decide on one.

How do you wire a three way toggle to bypass the parking brake wiring. Is there multiple wires that hook up to the brake? eBay has many kits people sell to do the same thing. Anyone know how they differ from the toggle switch method?

nice! you making it a permanent mount or is the iPad going to be easily removable?

I'm not an Apple fan AT ALL, but I could see myself doing this with an iPad or iPad Mini; seems like they would work good for complete entertainment system

um, no, never heard of that with these trucks...

I would ask them exactly what the eff they're talking about...

unless they SOMEHOW messed something with the airbag system up themselves, but then that repair is on them!

Go to the AVIC411 forum before you wire up any switch. Most Pioneers can be bypassed just by moving a wire on the radio's plug and grounding it as well as the park sense wire. That's how both my D3 was and my X930BT is now. No extra add-on box needed, no external switch, just a simple, quick, and FREE modification bypasses that stupid safety feature.

I have a JVC KD-DV5100 that was a simple as grounding out the green wire. On my Pioneer P4100DVD I used the relay method. No need to toggle any switches when I watch video.

Couldn't tell you, the only Kenwood I've ever messed with is the single din in my work truck. Pioneer has never given me issues so that's what I've always used in my truck; so far 1 single din and I'm on my 2nd double din (always changing, lol, but I'll probably stick with the X940BT I have now, I really like it)

Those are two different radios. The 4 model lacks HD Radio and the extra SiriusXM channels. The 5 model goes for about $100 more than what you guessed in most stores.

My wife has a pandora account and I've listened to it and I'm not all that impressed by it. I've looked at the Rosen quite a bit and I see it has bluetooth. For what I have read about them I like it. Not sure why they quit making the radio for the Taco but will keep my eye out. I thought the speakers up front were 5 1/2"? Does someone have a pic of this mod?
