Low speeds? I thought activate it when stopped and go as fast as you want through the trails.

    Sorry if I'm off topic.

Thats usually what I do. But only to power up hills that are not filled with to many rocks. Im not LT and Im not jumping any dunes or anything. I would keep it under 60 mph.

The ARB is a selectable locker. Acts as an open diff until you flip a switch. So handles corners fine until you decide to lock it up.

Thanks Tomtom ...that answers my question, no problems with either locker, when the lockers not in engaged...like regular street driving no bangs, pops, binding on cornering. I dont recall, where I read that was the problem with the ARB.

    - Billstein 5100's all around with OME 885 coil springs. - K&N Air Filter - HID Headlights & Fogs - Kenwood Stereo & Infinity Speakers - CB Radio, - Fog On Anytime mod - Anti Tailgate theft mod. More comming...
    TRD Sport:
    - 17" wheels
    - Color matched: Mirrors, grille surround, rear bumper
    - Hood Scoop
    - Limited Slip Differential (LSD) in rear
    - Linear rate springs
    - 5' or 6' bed available

    TRD Off-Road:
    - 16" Wheels
    - Chrome exterior pieces (vs color matched on Sport)
    - No Hood Scoop
    - Electric Locker in rear (press a button to engage)
    - Progressive springs
    - 6' bed NOT available

Linear means the springs have the same spring rate throughout the entire compression.
Progressive means the springs get stiffer as they compress.

I think that's it. There might something else though.

Im pretty sure the springs are all linear. Progressive coils look different.

I'm no expert by any means but all I've read in the past is that Off-Road=Progressive and Sport=Linear. Which would make sense.

Sport Package is suppose to have a stiffer suspension for road handling and the Off Road Package suspension is a little softer for ruff roads while off roading. This is info from Toyota dealer.

you forgot a bunch of stuff...

basically what it comes down to, is locker or no locker, 6ft bed or no 6ft bed, and scoop or no scoop. i rarely ever use my locker, except to make sure it does in fact work, i also did the anytime locker mod for the fuck of it. but to me, its a novelty. i didnt want the long bed, though i must say they look huge lifted

hate to admit it, but the sport packages 8.4" rear diff is a lot stronger than the off road packages 8" diff even though it doesnt have the locker. if you get the sport, you can cut the yellow wire going into the 4wd ECU behind the glovebox and get TRAC in 4hi and 4lo, which is similar to ATRAC (worked just as good on my reg cab), and works like front and rear lockers.... but you have to buy a 2009 or newer truck to do that as 08 and older didnt come with VSC.

i just like the off road stickers better :p

    This is no longer accurate.

    - 2012 + Sport models no longer have mechanical LSD, its Open diff on both ends, with Auto-LSD or brake assisted.

    - Also the Sport comes with Turn signals in the mirrors.

Unless you do the grey wire mod, locker de-activates over 5mph?

My 2010 Sport has auto LSD. I believe that the auto LSD is on 2009+ models.

Correct, except Auto LSD was optional on 2005-2008 models.

2005-2008 Sports had a mechanical LSD. 2005-2008 SR5's had the mechanical LSD as an optional package.
