Was kinda exploring an off road trail here in my area and drove through a rut / small ditch or something. It was kinda deep though I didnt need 4 wheel drive at all to drive through it. Anyway, when the back wheels fell into the hole I heard a metalic "pop" sound, I knew imediately what I broke. Drove a few feet forward to get out and look and sure enough, it was the 7 pin harness. Lucky for me, everything is still in tact, just slightly bent the metal plate like thing that the harness is bolted to and the weld that went from that plate to the frame broke clean, I tucked up on top of the spare and drove on home.

I found the 7 pin relocation mod and wanted to ask those that have done it. I intend on drilling a new 2 inch hole and was wondering if this is all I will need. Just unassemble the plug to get the flap on the outside of the bumper, piece back together right? Is it a PITA to take that plug apart to get it on the bumper? Thats the part im worried about. I am no good with wires and electric crap.

It's definitely as simple as it sounds, and the plug is easy to disassemble and reassemble.

Why go through the hassle of drilling a new hole in the bumper when you can easily remove a license plate light and reinstall the plug right there...

    That's what I did.

I thought about that, but I would rather keep my light in tac. IMO it looks cleaner too. Im not knocking yours in anyway at all, I just like the extra hole rout better.......

No worries, I just like keeping it simple and "clean" IMO.

If you are worried about only one light being bright enough to display the license plate rest assured it is bright enough. Either way, best of luck with how you want to install it. :)
