Think about it: who would have the advantage if just players and owners are in the room, the owners right? Rightfully so they want Fehr back in the room to cover their asses. The common dominator Bettman comes back as well and the deal is off the table. Why? Because Bettman wasn't there for any of the talks so he wants to start over. Bettman is still playing hard ball and squeezing the players until they beg to play. He's never had a Fehr across the table from him.

Tonight the League let a few owners give statements (but weren't allowed to answer questions) linked right to the NHL site. Season is done, just now in December the League has decided to finally partake in the propaganda spin, this is far from over:

3 issues league wants a yes on in order to continue talks:

 

i was so optimistic yesterday...but now it's just pathetic. the money isn't even an issue anymore, now it's terms. unbelievable.

It is rare, but today I really appreciate this guys article. It is getting to be time for the players to voice their opinions through a vote. I believe Fehr will allow the season to die otherwise :

This in my opinion says it all quoted from a sports station in Buffalo, "Adrian Dater of the Denver Post and SI.com spoke to one depth player who said "we were ready to play again but Don(Fehr) came in(Wednesday) and told us we could get more and to hold out."
Dater wrote that players will say they are unified but they are feeling powerless as" the Ryan Millers and Brad Richards of the world pretend this is a sacrifice for them.""

once i read that the players want a shorter term agreement, that was it.

they are pigs.

it should be a 15-20 year agreement.
