explain your reasoning behind that? that doesnt make sense to me..its same hardware in the vehicle...assuming both are 4x4 4.0 v6...ud think an acess cab with a 4 cylinder wouldnt be as loud as the v6 in either a four or two door truck lol ...to me there are a lot of pros and cons to four door vs two door..I like having an acess because people dont look at me as a taxi being thats theres really only two seats most people dont like sitting in the back..i haul stuff more frequently than i used to and bed space is good..if I had a family...four door would be little more practical though they got goods and bads..my friend has a taco that is four door long bed..its good stuff just very long truck

Gas milage sucks. I get 16mpg in town.. 14mpg over 85mph.. and 13mpg when hauling my quads/trailer.

Even an F150 gets better then that...

Not exactly. My single cab was MUCH louder on the interior than my double cab. I would bet my double is quieter than a similar access cab just because it has more crap behind the rear seat. It all works as insulation to help keep sounds out.

I think it was edmunds that reported a gripe that the seats were mounted to low. That was about the only negative they had for the 2012.

I know there's a mod on this website somewhere that tells you how to basically flip the mount for the mirror so it sits up higher. I forgot what it was called but I'm pretty sure it's most common among X-Runners

the center console flips to the right, but thats because if it flipped backwards it would get in the way of the rear cupholders. so thats understandable.

i love everything else about my tacoma!

I have a bracket that raises it up as high as it can possibly go. Still too low for me. The problem isn't really that the mirror is too low, its that the seat is too high. If I removed it completely it would be perfect!:D I know that can't build them for every body type out there. Just something I get to live with I guess.

im not sure if anyone has mentioned this or maybe im the only one who feels this way but i think the wheel wells in the front are to narrow (front plastics rubbing and cab mounts with larger tires) i no "get a smaller tire" but then it looks like there is way to much space above the tire to the top of the wheel well. like i said could be just me but i had a 94 and i never had a rubbing issue and it looked like the same gap all the way around the tire to the wheel well.

Road noise is real bad. You can hear the wind, the tires, the engine, and other cars real bad. I have a hard time talking on my Bluetooth phone. Also hard to hear the stereo on the hwy! Probably worse than the civic I had. Fun to drive though ;)

2008 DCSB Prerunner. My brakes suck. And my Frontier had traction control, an e-locker, and a mpg display.

    I know the area well.

I grew up in Parkville. And have family/friends there (Carney) and in Bel Air, Fallston and Aberdeen.

We always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn - Whitemarsh, when we visit. (right there off 95 and WM Blvd)

btw, the O's had a great year...I hope they do well in 2013.

I didn't look through all 38 pages, but now that I've had my taco for almost 2k miles.. I noticed a few things that would be nice...

    Practical things:

Locking and lit up glove box. Kind of annoying trying to grab my pistol in the dark...
    Locking tailgate
Indicator light on the fog light switch
    4WD knob light

    Squishy feel good things:

    Sunroof
    Power seats
Power rear window (It's big brother has one, why shouldn't the Taco??)
Data screen- MPG's, miles left on tank, etc etc

It is very long. And that's what she said also!

In all seriously a double cab is quieter (I have heard it from multiple people, I have confirmed this also on test drives) in terms of wind noise. I can't stand wind noise and apparently the AC's are just louder then the DC's.

I hear you. Those two initially bothered me as well. Of course, the seatbelt chime isn't Toyota's fault. That's federal regulations. I've never had an accident (decades) and never wear a seatbelt. I solved the chime by inserting a metal clip (purchased off eBay) into the seatbelt hook. The center console is still a bit irritating. Almost have to be a contortionist to get into it while driving, so I just don't. Anyway, neither are enough to change my overall positive opinion of the vehicle.

Man, the access cabs must just be considerably noisier than the double cabs. I have no problem with any of those things. Indeed, the stereo is loud enough to drown out nearly everything on the highway - large trucks or motorcycles (damn jerks riding Harleys) the rare exceptions. Talking on the phone using bluetooth is usually easy and uneventful.

I don't care for the wondering transmission. The very touchy brakes.
